Ralph Arnold
Ralph Arnold (December 5, 1928 – May 10, 2006) was an American artist and educator from Chicago, Illinois. Education and military service Arnold briefly attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before enlisting in U.S. Army and serving in Korea from 1950 to 1952. Returning to Chicago, Arnold met William Frederick, a silversmith teacher at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Arnold and Frederick became partners, and would remain together until Arnold's death more than fifty years later. Frederick encouraged Arnold to experiment with various artistic mediums in classes at the Art Institute. Arnold subsequently completed an undergraduate degree in 1955 at Roosevelt University; in 1976 he earned an M.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago. Lake Forest, Illinois
Lake Forest is a city located in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 19,367. The city is along the shore of Lake Michigan, and is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area and the North Shore. Lake Forest was founded with Lake Forest College and was laid out as a town in 1857, a stop for travelers making their way south to Chicago. The Lake Forest City Hall, designed by Charles Sumner Frost, was completed in 1898. It originally housed the fire department, the Lake Forest Library, and city offices. The Chicago Academy for the Arts, founded in 1981, is an independent high school for the performing and visual arts located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It was named a National School of Distinction by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Barat College
Barat College of the Sacred Heart was a small Catholic college located in Lake Forest, Illinois, north of Chicago. The college was named after Madeleine Sophie Barat, founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Barat College was purchased by DePaul University in 2001, but closed in 2005; the faculty and student body were absorbed by DePaul, and the campus and educational inventory were sold. History Barat College began as an academy for young women in Chicago in 1858 and moved to its Lake Forest location in 1904. In 1918, the state of Illinois chartered Barat as a four-year college.
