Rajoana Kalan and Rajoana Khurd are villages in the Ludhiana district, Punjab, India. Rajoana Kalan Rajoana Kalan has an official area of 562 Hectares and a population of 1,239 persons in 1991, and is in the local administration ward of Sudhar, 18 km from Mullanpur and not far from the towns of Jagraon and Moga. Rajoana Kalan is off the main road from Mullanpur to Raikot, between the River/Canal at Sudhar and Raikot, approximately two or three miles from Sudhar. Halwara village and the Halwara Air Force Base is even closer to village of Rajoana Kalan. Rajoana Kalan is located to the West of Ludhiana in Punjab. For directions from Ludhiana, turn left off the Firozepur Road at the town of Mullanpur to Raikot. Balwant Singh Rajoana
Balwant Singh Rajoana was convicted for the assassination of Beant Singh (former Chief Minister of Punjab) on 31 August 1995. Rajoana was sentenced to death on 1 August 2007 by a special CBI court in Chandigarh. Beant Singh was killed by Balwant Singh's associate Dilawar Singh Babbar and Balwant Singh was the backup human bomb to be used had Dilawar failed in his mission. Although Rajoana was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death for his involvement in the assassination, his execution has been stayed multiple times due to various legal proceedings and appeals. Beant Singh (chief Minister)
Beant Singh (19 February 1922 – 31 August 1995) was an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Punjab from 1992 to 1995. He was a member of Indian National Congress. He was assassinated in a suicide bombing. Early life Beant was born in Jhajj Jat Sikh Family from Bilaspur village near Doraha in Ludhiana District. The family migrated to Canal colonies of the West Punjab but shifted to village Kotli (Kotla Afghana) near Payal in the Ludhiana district after partition. Halwara
Halwara is a township in Punjab state in India.Located in the Ludhiana close to Village Sudhar, Halwara lies on the Mullanpur-Raikot road. Jagraon is a city and a municipal council, a rural police district and a sub-division of the Ludhiana district in the Indian state of Punjab. Jagraon is more than three centuries old. Moga, Punjab
Moga is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. It was made a part and headquarters of the Moga district (the 17th District in the state) on 24 November 1995, by the then Chief Minister Harcharan Singh Brar. Guru Gobind Singh
Guru Gobind Singh (; 22 December 1666 – 7 October 1708), born Gobind Das or Gobind Rai the tenth Sikh Guru, a spiritual master, warrior, poet and philosopher.
