Rajkumar College, Raipur
Rajkumar College (or RKC) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is one of the oldest K-12 foundations of India. It was founded by Sir Andrew Fraser in the year 1882 at Jabalpur. The School functioned at Jabalpur till 1892 and thereafter, shifted to its present site at Raipur in 1894, with boarding house facilities. Its estate is spread over 125 acres. It is a co-education, residential cum day boarding public school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi and prepares the students for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) (Class X) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) (Class XII) examinations. Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is a privately held national-level board of school education in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination for Class X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) for Class XII. It was established in 1958. Over 2,300 schools in India and abroad are affiliated to the CISCE. It is also recognised as a 'Non-Governmental Board of School Education'. This Indian Council was set up on the grounds that a board was required to administer the examinations being conducted in India by the University of Cambridge and to optimally tailor them according to the nation's need. The future education policies were prepared under the aegis of the Cambridge University. Princely State
A princely state (also called native state or Indian state) was a nominally sovereign entity of the British Raj, British Indian Empire that was not directly governed by the British, but rather by an Indian ruler under a form of indirect rule, subject to a subsidiary alliance and the suzerainty or paramountcy of the the Crown, British crown. There were officially 565 princely states when India and Pakistan became independent in 1947, but the great majority had contracted with the viceroy to provide public services and tax collection. Yogeshwar Raj Singh
Yogeshwar Raj Singh (born 1967) is a scion of Kawardha Raj family and son of late Vishwaraj Pratap Singh. He did his schooling from Rajkumar College, Raipur. He married 19 February 2003, Rani Kriti Devi belonging to erstwhile Tripura State. The couple have a son born in 2004. He is a former Indian National Congress politician. Vishwaraj Pratap Singh
Vishwaraj Pratap Singh (18 October 1932 – 14 May 2007) was prince and later held the officially, the titular Raja of Kawardha State from 1959-1971. He was eldest son of Raja Dharamraj Singh. He was a member of Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh from Kawardha constituency as a member of Akhil Bharatiya Ram Rajya Parishad from 1962-67. He was born at Kawardha on 18 October 1932 to Raja Dharamraj Singh of Kawardha. He was educated at Rajkumar College, Raipur of which he also served as a member of executive committee in later life. He was married and had issues. He became the Raja of Kawardha upon death of his father 20 August 1959 and held the title till the privy purse and titles were abolished by the Government of India in 1971. He died on 14 May 2007. Hemendra Chandra Singh
Hemendra Chandra Singh (29 September 1967 – 5 September 2014) was an Indian politician. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from Kandhamal constituency in Odisha. He was a member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) political party. He had left Congress and joined BJD in February 2014. Born in the royal family of Nayagarh, Hemendra was the Second Child of Late Maharaja B.K.Singh & Maharani Lokrajaya. His elder brother was Gajendra Chandra Singh. Maharaja Dharamraj Singh (18 August 1910 - 20 August 1959) was the Raja of the princely state of Kawardha State from 1920 till 1948, when the Kawardha merged into Union of India. Lal Chintamani Sharan Nath Shahdeo (14 December 1931 – 10 July 2014), was the last ruling Nagvanshi Maharaja of Chotanagpur Zamindari estate and a politician. Early life Lal Chintamani Sharan Nath Shahdeo was born in the royal family of Nagvanshi dynasty in 1931. He studied at Raj Kumar College in Raipur. In 1950, he succeeded his great grandfather Udai Pratap Nath Shah Deo as the maharaj of Chotanagpur zamindari estate.
