Rajendra Talak
Rajendra Talak is an Indian film director, from Goa. He is best known for his award-winning Konkani films, ''Aleesha'' and ''O Maria''. Early life Talak was born in Comba, Margao, Goa. He attended the Mahila Nutan and Popular High Schools in Margao and later joined Parvatibai Chowgule College, from which he graduated with a bachelor's of science. He was a state-ranked table tennis player, and represented his college in table tennis and badminton competitions. In the 1970s, Talak was a part of tabla player Sushant Keshav Naik's ''Mahesh Kumar & Party'' music group. The group merged into the ''Gomant Vidya Niketan Kala Vibha'', and staged award-winning dramas in Marathi. Talak's experience in drama and theatre, led him to a love for cinema. While composing the music for their play, ''Shitu'', Talak decided that the story was worth making into a movie, beginning his journey into filmmaking. Margao
Margao or Madgaon is the commercial capital of the Indian state of Goa. It stands on banks of the Sal river and is the administrative headquarters of Salcete sub-district and South Goa district. The 37th International Film Festival of India was held from November 23 – December 3 2006 in Goa. The jury, headed by Australian director Rolf de Heer, consisted of French director Olivier Assayas, Polish actress Grażyna Szapołowska, Argentinian actress Leticia Bredice and India's Jahnu Barua. The Technical Retrospective was instituted this year, which will cover topics on Digital Editing including a film ‘Cutting Edge’ followed by a Presentation by Editor Steven Cohen, while special Presentations on Film Restoration and Digital Animation were made by the technicians from Italy. Konkani () is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Konkani people, primarily in the Konkan region, along the western coast of India. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages mentioned in the Indian Constitution, and the official language of the Indian state of Goa. Swachh Bharat Mission
Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. It is a restructured version of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan launched in 2009 and carried out by predecessor Manmohan Singh that failed to achieve its intended targets. Phase 1 of the Swachh Bharat Mission lasted till October 2019. Phase 2 is being implemented between 2020–21 and 2024–25 to help cement the work of Phase 1.
