Andhra University ( IAST: ''Āndhra Vișvakalāpariṣhat'') is a public university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1926. History King Vikram Deo Verma, the Maharaja of Jeypore was one of the biggest donors of the university. He donated lands and two million rupees for the establishment of the university which was set to be shifted elsewhere by the education authorities due to lack of funding. Furthermore, he provided lakh annually to the university, an approximate figure of lakhs between 1930s - 1940s.a The liberal king was conferred an Honorary Doctorate degree from the university. The Jeypore College of Technology and Science in Andhra University was founded by Maharajah Vikram Deo. Kambhampati Hari Babu
Kambhampati Hari Babu is an Indian politician and the current Governor of Mizoram and he is the first being person from divided Andhra Pradesh and first Telugu person serving as Governor of Mizoram in North East India. The Telangana High Court is the High Court for the Indian state of Telangana. Konamaneni Amareswari
Justice K. Amareswari (1928–2009) was the first woman judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Amareswari was born in Appikatla Village in Guntur District. She graduated with a master's degree in Politics and History from Andhra University College of Law in the year 1949. She completed her bachelor's in law from the same university. She became the first lady judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. She was a member of the Bar Council from 1960–1961 and was appointed Judge directly from the Bar. She was the Vice-President of the Indian Federation of Women Lawyers. She also worked as the Vice-President of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association during the period 1975-1976. Lakshmi Nandan Bora
Lakshmi Nandan Bora (15 June 1932 – 3 June 2021) was an Indian novelist and short story writer in the Assamese language, known for over 60 books he has authored, including award winning novels, ''Patal Bhairavi'' and ''Kayakalpa''. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education (India), Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The Framework was approved by the MHRD and launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015.
