Rajah Caruth
Rajah Kirby Caruth (born June 11, 2002) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing. Caruth is one of the five African-American drivers who are currently competing in NASCAR, alongside Bubba Wallace, Jesse Iwuji, Blake Lothian, and Armani Williams. Racing career Early career Rajah started his racing career at age 16, driving in the virtual 2018 eNASCAR Ignite Series on iRacing. Rajah was able to catch the attention of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program, which resulted in him having a shot at the 2019 Bojangles' Southern Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the legend cars category. Rajah ended his rookie season getting two top 10s, and ending up 13th in the Semi-pro points. List Of African-American NASCAR Drivers
This is a list of NASCAR drivers that have raced in one of its national or touring series who are African Americans. Many of the current drivers and some of the former drivers have previously been or are currently members of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program. Wendell Scott (1 win) and Bubba Wallace (2 wins) are the only two drivers to have won NASCAR Cup Series races. Wallace also has 6 wins in the Truck Series and is the only African-American driver to have won in that series. Iowa Speedway is a 7/8-mile (1.4 km) paved oval motor racing track in Newton, Iowa, United States, approximately east of Des Moines. It has over 25,000 permanent seats as well as a unique multi-tiered RV viewing area along the backstretch. The premiere event of the track is the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend held yearly in July since its inaugural running in 2007. The 2022 General Tire 150 was the second stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series, the first race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series West and the 2022 Sioux Chief Showdown, and the third iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, March 11, 2022, in Avondale, Arizona at Phoenix Raceway, a 1-mile (1.6 km) permanent low-banked tri-oval race track. The race was run over 154 laps due to an overtime finish. Taylor Gray of David Gilliland Racing would win the race after leading 43 laps. This was Gray's first career ARCA Menards Series win and his fourth career west series win. The 2022 ARCA Menards Series West is the 69th season of the ARCA Menards Series West, a regional stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. The 2022 ARCA Menards Series East is the 36th season of the ARCA Menards Series East, a regional stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States.
