Raja Shankar
Raja Shankar or Rajashankar was an Indian actor in Kannada cinema. His films include ''Bhakta Kumbara'' (1974), ''Sampathige Saval'' (1974) and '' Sri Srinivasa Kalyana'' (1974). He also co-produced the 1974 Kannada movie ''Bangaarada Panjara'' starring Dr. Rajkumar and the 1976 Kannada movie ''Vijaya Vani''. Career Shankar has appeared in more than 50 movies in Kannada. Personal life His family lives in Malleswaram, Bangalore. There is a park and playground named after him at 1st Cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore. His youngest daughter, Chaya, contested the 17th Lok Sabha elections from Tumakuru representing the political party of the actor Upendra. Madhugiri is a city in Tumkur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The city derives its name from a hillock, Madhu-giri (honey-hill) which lies to its south. ''Bahaddur Gandu'' () is a 1976 Indian Kannada-language swashbuckler film directed by A. V. Sheshagiri Rao, starring Rajkumar, Jayanthi, Aarathi and Vajramuni. The movie saw a theatrical run of 19 weeks. The story was penned by the celebrated playwright H. V. Subba Rao based on William Shakespeare's play ''The Taming of the Shrew''. Plot Rajkumar plays an upright Panju, who stays in Bankapura with his mother. Due to the evil policies of crown prince Vajramuni and princess Jayanti, Panju and villagers are at the risk of losing their lands. ''Mayura'' is a 1975 Indian Kannada-language historical drama film, directed by Vijay. It is one of the most popular films of acclaimed Kannada actor Rajkumar, who plays the role of Prince Mayurasharma of the Kadamba dynasty, the earliest native kingdom to rule over what is today the modern state of Karnataka. ''Kasturi Nivasa'' () is a 1971 Indian Kannada-language drama film written and directed by the director duo Dorai–Bhagavan based on a story, ''Kasturi Nivasam'' written by G. Balasubramanium. It was produced by K. C. N. Gowda under the banner of Anupam Movies. The film stars Rajkumar as Ravi Varma, an extremely generous man, who succumbs to his intention of being generous no matter what happens. It also features Jayanthi, K. S. Ashwath and Aarathi in supporting roles. After Balasubramaniam wrote the story exclusively for Sivaji Ganesan, director K. Shankar and producer Noor was impressed. Sivaji Ganesan however refused citing that the film had a tragic ending. In early 1971, Chi. Udayashankar and S. P. Varadaraj chanced upon the project.
