Raja Rani (1973 Film)
''Raja Rani'' () is a 1973 Hindi-language film. The film stars Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. The supporting cast included Sujith Kumar, Farida Jalal, Iftekar, Dulari and Asit Sen. Mumtaz makes a guest appearance as herself. Produced by Jagdish Kumar, the film is written and directed by veteran writer Sachin Bhowmick. The film was box office hit and was Sachin's first and last attempt to take on direction. The film's music was written by R. D. Burman. His real-life wife Asha Bhosle received a Filmfare Nomination as Best Female Playback Singer for the song "Jab Andhera Hota Hai," the only nomination for the film. As per the review of the film made in 2014 by the ''Hindu'' newspaper, the film did well at the box office and taking into consideration, the inflation as of 2014, the film would have grossed more than 100 crores. Sachin Bhowmick
Sachin Bhowmick (17 July 1930 – 12 April 2011) was an Indian Hindi film writer and director. Writing was his main work and he wrote stories or screenplays for over 94 films. He is best remembered for directing the light romantic black comedy classic '' Raja Rani'' (1973). He was also a regular contributor to ''Ultorath'', a Bengali magazine on cinema. Due to the Bengali pronunciation of his surname Bhaumick we will find his surname spelled as Bhowmick in numerous sites. His name served as the inspiration for an eponymous character played by Kharaj Mukherjee in the 2018 romance ''Dhadak''. Iftekhar
Sayedna Iftekhar Ahmed Sharif (22 February 1924 – 4 March 1995), often mononymously credited as Iftekhar, was an Indian actor who mainly worked in Hindi cinema. He is known for his role as a police officer. Career Iftekhar was born in Jalandhar and was the eldest among four brothers and a sister. After completing his matriculation, Iftekhar did a diploma course in painting from Lucknow College Of Arts. Iftekhar had a passion for singing and was impressed with the famous singer Kundanlal Sehgal. In his 20s, Iftekhar travelled to Calcutta for an audition conducted by the music composer Kamal Dasgupta, who was then serving for HMV. Mukesh Chand Mathur (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976), better known mononymously as Mukesh, was an Indian playback singer. Mukesh is considered to be one of the most popular and acclaimed playback singers of the Hindi film industry. Bhupinder Singh (born Bhupinder Soin, 6 February 1940 – 18 July 2022) was an Indian musician, a ghazal singer and also a Bollywood playback singer. Early life Bhupinder Singh was born in Amritsar, Punjab to Natha Singhji, a musician and his introducer to music. Bhupinder's father was a stern teacher, and at one point, he detested music and its instruments. Music career Singh started his career as a casual artist for All India Radio under the direction of Satish Bhatia. He also worked at Doordarshan Center, New Delhi. He also learnt guitar. Early life Anand Bakshi (Bakshi Anand Prakash Vaid) was born in Rawalpindi in the Punjab Province of British India (now in Punjab, Pakistan), on 21 July 1930 into a Mohyal Brahmin family of the Vaid clan.
