Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport , formerly Kijang Airport, is an international airport located in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is the second largest airport in Riau Islands, after the Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam. History The airport is named after Raja Haji Fisabilillah (1727–1784), the sultan of Johor-Riau Sultanate and national hero of Indonesia. In the beginning, it was managed by the State Assets Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ministry of Transportation. In 2000, the operation of Kijang Airport was transferred to PT Angkasa Pura II. Sky Aviation was a regional airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It started service in 2010 and suspended operation in 2014. History Sky Aviation was established as an air charter service in 2010 with a fleet of two Cirrus aircraft. After a management change in 2010, it expanded its services to a regular scheduled airline. Hang Nadim International Airport ( id, Bandar Udara Internasional Hang Nadim) is an international airport located in Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is named after Laksamana Hang Nadim Pahlawan Kechik, a legendary warrior from the region. The airport is the primary method of transport to and from Batam, alongside ferries to neighboring islands, including the sovereign city-state Singapore in the north. The airport has the largest runway in Indonesia and the second-longest runway in Southeast Asia.
