Raj Grewal
Rajvinder Grewal (born September 11, 1985) is a former Canadian politician who represented the riding of Brampton East in the House of Commons of Canada from 2015 to 2019. Elected as a Liberal in the 2015 Canadian federal election, he resigned from caucus in 2018 after a police investigation into his extensive gambling debts, and did not stand in the 2019 Canadian federal election. In September 2020, he was charged by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for breach of trust and fraud over $5,000. Before politics The son of an airport cab driver, Grewal attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business, and then completed an MBA at York University's Schulich School of Business and a law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. Brampton East
Brampton East (french: Brampton-Est) is a federal electoral district in Ontario. It encompasses a portion of Ontario previously included in the electoral districts of Bramalea—Gore—Malton and Brampton—Springdale. Brampton East was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election. Brampton East is one of the only federal electoral districts with a South Asian majority (70.1% of the population identified as South Asian in 2021). Brampton East also has the second-highest percentages of Sikhs (40.4%, behind only Surrey-Newton) and the highest percentages of Hindus (23.8%) of any riding in Canada. The Casino du Lac-Leamy (formerly the Casino de Hull) is a government-run casino located in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The casino was opened on March 24, 1996, in the former city of Hull, Quebec, the third of a group of casinos built by the provincial government to raise funds. Ottawa, the larger city across the Ottawa River, was also planning to build a casino in the early 1990s, but these plans were blocked by the Government of Ontario. Bay Street is a major thoroughfare in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is the centre of Toronto's Financial District and is often used by metonymy to refer to Canada's financial services industry since succeeding Montreal's St. James Street in that role in the 1970s.
