Railway Accidents In New South Wales
The railways of New South Wales, Australia have had many incidents and accidents since their formation in 1831. There are close to 1000 names associated with rail-related deaths in NSW on the walls of the Australian Railway Monument in Werris Creek. Those killed were all employees of various NSW railways. The first occurred as a derailment on 10 July 1858. The locomotive was pulling two open third-class carriages, a first- and a second-class carriage between Sydney and Parramatta. Hawkesbury River railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main North and Central Coast–Newcastle lines in Brooklyn in the Hornsby Shire local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The Barrier Miner
''The Barrier Miner'' was a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Broken Hill in far western New South Wales from 1888 to 1974. History First published on 28 February 1888, ''The Barrier Miner'' was published continuously until 25 November 1974. Copies are available on microfilm and online via Trove Digitised Newspapers. The paper was revived briefly in 2005; an index to births deaths and marriages has been prepared which also notes additional publication dates between 16 December 2005 and 31 July 2008. ''The Macleay Argus ''is an English-language newspaper published twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday, in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia. In 1952 it absorbed ''The Macleay Chronicle'', which had been in publication since 1878. History ''The Macleay Argus'' commenced publication in 1885. Its circulation included the Hastings, Manning, Camden Haven, Rollands Plains, Upper Macleay and the Northern Coast districts. ''The Macleay Chronicle'' was published in Kempsey from 1878-1952. In 1892 it circulated to 1500 people in the district. From 1910 it was published by Edward Patrick Noonan, whose son Harry also worked for the paper. Hurstville Railway Station
Hurstville railway station is located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of Hurstville. It is served by Sydney Trains T4 line services and NSW TrainLink South Coast line services. History Hurstville station opened on 15 October 1884 on the terminus of the Illawarra railway line from Redfern. On 26 December 1885, the line was extended to Sutherland. The station initially had two side platforms and two through running lines. When the line was quadruplicated in 1925, the station was rebuilt with two island platforms, with the southern platform serving the Illawara main line and the northern platform serving the Illawara Local (IL) line. Sydenham railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of Sydenham in New South Wales, Australia.
