Rahoon-Newcastle GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club that takes in an area stretching from Barna to Corcullen (townland on Moycullen-Rahoon parish border) and all the way to Newcastle in Galway City, Ireland. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. The association also promotes Irish music and dance, as well as the Irish language. As of 2014, the organisation had over 500,000 members worldwide, and declared total revenues of €65.6 million in 2017. Barna
Barna (Bearna in Irish) is a coastal village on the R336 regional road in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. It has become a satellite village of Galway city. The village is Irish speaking and is therefore a constituent part of the regions of Ireland that make up the Gaeltacht. In 1976, a community development group called ''Comharchumann Bearna Teo'' was formed after five local men put up the purchase money for at ''Troscaigh Thiar'' to be used for community purposes and has succeeded in developing several recreational facilities. Galway City

John Hanbury (hurler)
John Hanbury (born 13 May 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left corner-back for club side Rahoon-Newcastle and formerly at inter-county level with the Galway senior hurling team. Playing career University As a student at NUI Galway, Hanbury was a regular player on the university's senior hurling team in the Fitzgibbon Cup. Club Hanbury joined the Rahoon-Newcastle club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels, enjoying championship success in the under-21 grade in 2013., Currently plays American football with Amsterdam Crusaders.
