Rahnsdorf () is a locality (''Ortsteil'') of Berlin, Germany, located in the southeast of the Berlin borough (''Bezirk'') of Treptow-Köpenick. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Köpenick. History Rahnsdorf was first mentioned in 1375, having been founded as a fishermen's village with its own church. The latter burned down almost completely in 1872 and thus had to be rebuilt thereafter. In 1902, the ''Villenkolonie'' of Wilhelmshagen was built in the east of the village with Tabor Church. In 1920, Rahnsdorf was merged into the city of Berlin as a consequence of the " Greater Berlin Act" and from 1949 to 1990 it was part of East Berlin. Berlin-Rahnsdorf Station
Rahnsdorf station is a station of the Berlin S-Bahn. It is located in the district of Rahnsdorf in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick. History The station was opened on 15 May 1879. The station was rebuilt to a design by the architects Charles Cornelius and Waldemar Suadicani between 1899 and 1902. This work was made necessary by the elevation of the tracks and the simultaneous construction of a separate pair of tracks for long-distance and freight traffic. The original construction of the station area is still largely preserved and the station building is heritage-listed. There was a serious railway accident on 11 November 1916: a group of track maintenance workers made up of women—because of labour shortages as a result of the First World War—waved to the soldiers of a passing military train. Tabor Church (Berlin-Wilhelmshagen)
Tabor Church (Wilhelmshagen) (german: link=no, Tabor-Kirche) is one of the three churches of the Evangelical Berlin-Rahnsdorf Congregation, a member of today's Protestant umbrella organisation Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. The church building is located in the quarter ''Wilhelmshagen'', locality Rahnsdorf, borough Treptow-Köpenick of Berlin. The church was named in memory of the Transfiguration of Jesus, which allegedly took place on Mount Tabor הר תבור in today's Israel. Congregation and Church The congregation's parish comprises the area of the historical village of Rahnsdorf, which has been incorporated into Berlin by the Prussian Greater Berlin Act in 1920. Berlin Wilhelmshagen Station
Berlin Wilhelmshagen station is located on the Berlin-Frankfurt (Oder) railway and the Berlin S-Bahn. It is located in the settlement of Wilhelmshagen in the suburb of Rahnsdorf in the district of Treptow-Köpenick and is the last stop in the suburbs of Berlin of the line to Erkner. It is served by the S-Bahn line S3. History The station was opened on 15 November 1882 as ''Neu-Rahnsdorf''. With the rebuilding of a line (then part of the line between Berlin and Breslau—now Wrocław in Poland) with a new pair of long-distance tracks as far as Erkner, the new line was built on an embankment. The passenger station, which was now only served by suburban trains, was rebuilt in the course of this work to a design by the architects Charles Cornelius and Waldemar Suadicani. Woltersdorf Tramway
The Woltersdorf Tramway (''Woltersdorfer Straßenbahn'') is a standard gauge tramway, located in Woltersdorf, Brandenburg, near Berlin, Germany. The line is notable for its use of historic vehicles, using 4 wheeled trams, built in the early 1960s. The line was constructed in 1913, to connect Woltersdorf to the Berlin Suburban railways. It is one of the smallest tram operators in Germany, and has not expanded beyond its 1913 route. Route The line starts at Berlin-Rahnsdorf station, where it connects with Berlin S-Bahn line S3. It then runs through Köpenick Forest, passing from Berlin into Brandenburg. It then travels along Berliner Strasse, into Woltersdorf. At Thälmanplatz, there is a short spur to the depot. Müggelheim () is a German locality (''Ortsteil'') within the Berlin borough (''Bezirk'') of Treptow-Köpenick. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Köpenick. History The village was founded on June 1, 1747, by 20 families from Odernheim am Glan, in Rhineland-Palatinate. Woltersdorf is a municipality in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg. Dämeritzsee
The Dämeritzsee () is a lake located in Brandenburg and Berlin, Germany. At an elevation of , its surface area is . It is located partly in the municipality of Erkner (Oder-Spree district) and part in Rahnsdorf, a Berliner locality in Treptow-Köpenick district. The lake forms part of the course of the River Spree, and is the location of that river's confluence with the short Flakenfließ that flows out of the Flakensee. The reach of the Spree downstream to the Müggelsee is also known as the Müggelspree. The Müggelsee (), also known as the Großer Müggelsee, is a natural lake in the eastern suburbs of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It is the largest of the Berlin lakes by area, with an area of , a length of The lake is in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick. The suburbs of Köpenick, Friedrichshagen, Rahnsdorf and a little section of Müggelheim border on the lake. The lake itself is deep at its deepest point.
