	Rahewin Rahewin was an important German chronicler at the abbey of Freising in Bavaria. He was secretary and chaplain to Otto von Freising Otto is a masculine German given name and a surname. It originates as an Old High German short form (variants ''Audo'', '' Odo'', '' Udo'') of Germanic names beginning in ''aud-'', an element meaning "wealth, prosperity". The name is recorded ...; he also continued the work of his master Otto von Freising, ''Gesta Friderici,'' books 3 and 4, between 1157 and 1160. Rahewin was also a poet.
