Rah (slang)
Rah or yah is a pejorative term referring to a stereotypical affluent young upper class or upper-middle class person in the United Kingdom. The term "rah" originated as a contraction of "Hoorah Henry" (sometimes "Hoorah Henries and Henriettas"), a pejorative description of a social stereotype similar to the Sloane Ranger stereotype also recognised in the UK, though a rah is generally younger, typically around university age (18–25), and less associated geographically with London. The use of the term is likely to have been furthered by onomatopoeic correlation with the way in which those fitting the stereotype are perceived to talk, with the word 'rah' being associated with upper-middle class affluence since at least the early 1980s. An important feature of the rah stereotype is the enjoyment of an affluent/party lifestyle with excessive financial assistance from their parents. Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley
The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is the main hospital in Paisley serving a large catchment area stretching all the way to Oban and Argyll. The hospital is managed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. History The hospital has its origins in a general dispensary in central Paisley which opened in 1786 and became a house of recovery in 1805. A new facility financed by William Barbour and designed by Thomas Graham Abercrombie was completed at Calside in July 1896. In the early 1980s it was decided to create a modern hospital on the site of the old Riccartsbar Hospital in Craw Road and the new facility was officially opened by Princess Alexandra in May 1988. The hospital received patients from the 2007 Glasgow Airport attack, including one of the suspects who was taken to the hospital under arrest with severe burns. The Royal Alexandra Hospital ( cy, Ysbyty Frenhinol Alexandra, RAH) is a community hospital in Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales. It is managed by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The hospital is a Grade II listed building. It has no in-patient facilities but is used for a range of outpatient services including physiotherapy, X-ray and CAMHS. James Churchward (27 February 1851 – 4 January 1936) was a British occult writer, inventor, engineer, and fisherman.
