Raghunath Keshav Khadilkar
Raghunath Keshav Khadilkar (15 December 1905 – 8 March 1979) was a union minister, freedom fighter, and a thought leader from Pune, Maharashtra. During his term as Union Minister for Labour, Khadilkar, championed a formula to raise the minimum bonus from 4% to 8.33% (1/12th of annual salary). The Bonus Review Committee appointed in 1971 endorsed what came to be known as the Khadilkar formula. The Government enforced this formula by the Payment of Bonus Act, 1972. Under the Act, the quantum of minimum bonus was raised to 8.33%. This practice of giving one month's salary as bonus to workers (especially during Diwali) is widely followed by households and businesses even today. He served as 4rd Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha from 1967 to 1969, Minister of Supply, from 1969 to 1971, and Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation in 1971. Fergusson College
Fergusson College is an autonomous public-private college offering various courses in the streams of arts and science in the city of Pune, India. It was founded in 1885 by the Deccan Education Society. Professor Vaman Shivram Apte was its first principal. Social reformer, journalist, thinker and educationist Gopal Ganesh Agarkar served as the second principal from August 1892, till his death in June 1895. The college is named after Scottish-born Sir James Fergusson, the Governor of Bombay, the college has been under the jurisdiction of the University of Pune. In May 2018, Fergusson college was upgraded to a unitary university following an update from Ministry of HRD. ILS Law College
ILS Law College, or in its full name Indian Law Society's Law College, is a government-aided law school in Pune, India. It was established in 1924 and offers courses that include three-year and five-year degrees. ILS is located on Law College Road, Pune. The college was aided by The Ford Foundation. History The Indian Law Society was established on 4 March 1923 as a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Societies Registration Act. The society established the eponymous Law College with the objective of providing facilities for the study of law on a scientific basis with proper training.
