Ragga Gísla
Guðmunda Ragnhildur Gísladóttir, known as Ragga Gisla (born 7 October 1956), is an Icelandic actor and musician. She led the band Grýlurnar which appeared in a popular comedy film in the 1980s. She was knighted for her contribution to music. Life Gísla was born in Iceland in 1956. In 1981 she was in a band called Brimkló but she was not happy with the credit she was receiving. She decided to start a new group called Grýlurnar, which means "Icicles". This was a nickname they had heard the musician Pétur Kristjánsson use to refer to girls. Dozens of girls replied to an advert for members of the new band, but those chosen were the guitarist Inga Rún Pálmadóttir, the drummer Linda Björk, Linda Björk Hreiðarsdóttir and Herdísi Hallvarðsdóttir on bass. Gisla would play keyboards and be the band's lead. Grýlurnar was to become one of the most well known girl bands. Retro Stefson was an Icelandic alternative/pop-band formed in Reykjavík, active from 2006 to 2016. The band was signed to Vertigo-Berlin/Universal. Retro Stefson released their debut album ''Montaña'' exclusively in Iceland in October 2008 and their second album, '' Kimbabwe'', in October 2010 on Kimi Records. The album also became their European debut in May 2011 on the German subsidiary of Vertigo Records Vertigo Records is a British record company. The European Divas - Frostroses
The annual Icelandic Christmas concert Frostroses (In Icelandic: Frostrosir), held in Reykjavík, Iceland, is one of Iceland's most cherished Christmas traditions. "Frostrosir" is the Icelandic term for the flower-like patterns that form on windows when frost is present. Begun in 2002, the event brings together well-known performers. Many of them come from Northern Europe countries. In December 2006 a group of popular female singers from many different countries, named ''European Divas'', gathered and performed on a concert at the Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavík. ''Inga'' is a genus of small tropical, tough-leaved, nitrogen-fixing treesElkan, Daniel.
