Rafiqul Alam (cricketer)
Rafiqul Alam ( bn, রফিকুল আলম) (born 4 October 1957) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in two One Day Internationals in the 1986 Asia Cup. In his debut match against Pakistan he scored 14. He followed this with 10 against Sri Lanka. In ICC Trophy He was a member of the Bangladesh team that took part in the 2nd ICC Trophy tournament in England. He played in all 7 matches (including the semi-Final against eventual champions Zimbabwe). Alam, however, failed to impress and scored only 79 runs. His highest was 33 in the very first match against West Africa. He was slightly more successful four years later. He scored 135 runs with an average of 27.00. His top score was 51 against Malaysia. He also took 5 wickets in the tournament. Rafiqul Islam (activist)
Rafiqul Islam (16 July 1950 – 20 November 2013) was a Bangladeshi-born Canadian language activist. He played a major role in achieving recognition of February 21 as the International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by the General Conference of UNESCO in November 1999. He was awarded Independence Day Award posthumously by the Government of Bangladesh in 2016. He was a member of Vancouver-based organization The Mother Language Lovers Of The World which was awarded Ekushey Padak Ekushey Padak ( bn, একুশে পদক; lit. Rafiqul Islam Miah is a Bangladeshi barrister and politician. He served as the State Minister for Labour and Manpower and later as Minister of Housing and Public Works in the first Khaleda Zia cabinet during 1991–1996. He also served as Minister of Education in the government formed after the February 1996 Bangladeshi general election. Rafiqul Hassan Khan (1958 – 23 September 1981) was a Bangladeshi army officer who was executed for this alleged involvement in the Assassination of Ziaur Rahman, assassination of president Ziaur Rahman. Career Early life and Bangladesh Liberation War Raifqul Hasan Khan was born in 1958 in Meherpur of Kushtia district. He was a student at Jhenaidah Cadet College when the Bangladesh Liberation War began in 1971. Aged 13, he participated in the war, alongside his father, Mohammad Hashem Ali Khan. Rafiqul and his father stayed at a camp in Nadia district, Nadia, West Bengal.
