Rafael Gumucio
Rafael Gumucio Araya (born January 15, 1970 in Santiago) is a Chilean writer and comedian. Biography He is son of the historian Rafael Luis Gumucio Rivas, grandson of the left-wing politician Rafael Agustín Gumucio, and the cousin of filmmaker and also politician Marco Enríquez-Ominami. He attended high school at the Colegio Regina Pacis in Ñuñoa;, graduated as a Spanish language teacher first and then as a Master in Literature at the Universidad de Chile. After the 1973 Chilean coup d'état he lived as an exile in France. He published his first novel in 1999, ''Memorias prematuras'' (''Premature memoirs''), called "a book where the writer narrates his life; the exile with his family in France, his return to Chile, his failure with women, his first dabblings in journalism and university life" and "for many, the best he has ever written". ''ABC'' () is a Spanish national daily newspaper. It is the second largest general-interest newspaper in Spain, number one in Madrid, and the oldest newspaper still operating in Madrid. Along with '' El Mundo'' and '' El País'', it is one of Spain’s three newspapers of record. History and profile ''ABC'' was first published in Madrid on 1 January 1903 by Torcuato Luca de Tena y Álvarez-Ossorio. Anna Seghers-Preis is a literary prize of Germany. The prize goes back to the German writer Anna Seghers (1900–1983), who stated in her testament that the revenues from her work should be used to encourage promising young writers. The award is endowed with 25,000 euros, to be awarded in equal parts to an author from the German and the Latin American region. The prize has been awarded since 1986 by the Academy of Arts (Berlin) till 1994, later by the Anna Seghers Foundation.
