Rado (mayor Of The Palace)
Rado (or Rado Vasilev), a brother of Audoin/Ouen and son of Saint Authaire (Audecharius), was the mayor of the palace of Burgundy from 613 to 617. He, along with Warnachar, Pepin of Landen, and Saint Arnulf, abandoned the cause of the queen Brunhilda and the young king Sigebert II and joined with Clotaire II, promising not to rise in defence of the queen-regent and recognising Clotaire as rightful sus god and guardian of Sigebert. He was confirmed in his mayoralty by Clotaire, who also confirmed Warnachar as mayor of Austrasia. Rado (palatine)
Rado ( hu, Radó; died 1057) was a noble in the Kingdom of Hungary, who served as palatine ( la, comes palatii) around 1057, during the reign of Andrew I of Hungary. As palatine, Rado donated some land estates to the Abbey of Szávaszentdemeter ( la, Sirmium; today Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia) in 1057. He died in that same year. Later his widow, Lucia commemorated her orphaned relatives in a charter. His name is Slavic. Alexander Radó (5 November 1899, Újpest, near Budapest – 20 August 1981, Budapest), also: Alex, Alexander Radolfi, Sándor Kálmán Reich or Alexander Rado, was a Hungarian cartographer and a Soviet military intelligence agent in World War II. Radó (codename "DORA") was also a member of the resistance (german: Widerstandskämpfer) to Nazi Germany, devoted to the service of the so-called Red Orchestra, the Soviet espionage and spy network to Western Europe between 1933 and 1945. There he was the head of the Switzerland resistance group Red Three, one of the most efficient residents of the Red Orchestra. Elisabeth Radó
Elisabeth Radó (29 October 1899 – 3 April 1986) was a Yugoslavian singer and singing teacher from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Biography Born in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which in the days before World War I was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She studied singing with her adoptive mother, the singer Maria Rado, and like many singers, was attracted to the capital city of Vienna, where she started her career as a concert and opera singer in the 1920s. She began giving singing lessons in 1931 and became one of the most respected singing teachers in the city. From 1950–1966, she taught singing at the Academy (now: University) of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She died in Vienna, on 3 April 1986. Elisabeth Radó was a woman with strong features, a rather square jaw, and a professorial demeanor. Tibor Radó
Tibor Radó (June 2, 1895 – December 29, 1965) was a Hungarian mathematician who moved to the United States after World War I. Biography Radó was born in Budapest and between 1913 and 1915 attended the Polytechnic Institute, studying civil engineering. In World War I, he became a First Lieutenant in the Hungarian Army and was captured on the Russian Front. He escaped from a Siberian prisoner camp and, traveling thousands of miles across Arctic wasteland, managed to return to Hungary. He received a doctorate from the Franz Joseph University in 1923. He taught briefly at the university and then became a research fellow in Germany for the Rockefeller Foundation. In 1929, he moved to the United States and lectured at Harvard University and the Rice Institute before obtaining a faculty position in the Department of Mathematics at Ohio State University in 1930. Sandor Rado ( hu, Radó Sándor; 8 January 1890, Kisvárda – 14 May 1972, New York City) was a Hungarian psychoanalyst of the second generation, who moved to the United States of America in the 1930s. According to Peter Gay, "Budapest produced some of the most conspicuous talents in the analytic profession: in addition to Ferenczi, these included Franz Alexander, Sándor Radó." Rado is known for having coined the term "'' schizotype"'' in 1956 as an abbreviation of ''"schizophrenic phenotype"''. Gaby Rado (17 January 1955, Budapest – 30 March 2003, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq) was a Hungarian-British television journalist who died in Iraq during the 2003 invasion. Life Gábor András Rado was born in Budapest, Hungary, and emigrated with his family to Britain at the age of eight. Jonathan Rado is an American musician, record producer and engineer, best known as a multi-instrumentalist in the indie rock duo Foxygen. Rado is a native of Westlake Village, California, where he formed Foxygen with his classmate Sam France in 2005. After releasing four albums with Foxygen, Rado began producing albums for other artists, including The Killers, The Lemon Twigs, Tim Heidecker, Whitney, Alex Cameron, Father John Misty and Weyes Blood. Richard Rado
Richard Rado FRS (28 April 1906 – 23 December 1989) was a German-born British mathematician whose research concerned combinatorics and graph theory. He was Jewish and left Germany to escape Nazi persecution. He earned two PhDs: in 1933 from the University of Berlin, and in 1935 from the University of Cambridge. He was interviewed in Berlin by Lord Cherwell for a scholarship given by the chemist Sir Robert Mond which provided financial support to study at Cambridge. After he was awarded the scholarship, Rado and his wife left for the UK in 1933. He was appointed Professor of Mathematics at the University of Reading in 1954 and remained there until he retired in 1971. Contributions Rado made contributions in combinatorics and graph theory including 18 papers with Paul Erdős. Türkan Rado (30 October 1915 – 3 March 2007) was a Turkish professor of jurisprudence specializing in Roman law at Istanbul University. She was the first ever female professor of law in Turkey. Biography She was born on 30 October 1915 in Istanbul, then Ottoman Empire. Her father, Cevdet Ferit, was a lawyer and lecturer of criminal procedure at Darülfünun, in what is today Istanbul University; her mother was Ayşe Nikfal. She had two sisters, Şeküre and Gülgün.
