Radiotelevisão Caboverdiana
The Radiotelevisão Caboverdiana is Cape Verde's first radio and television station broadcasting local programs from Cape Verde, Portugal and Brazil as well as the rest of the world especially France. It is a publicly owned company and enterprise and is located in the Capeverdean capital city of Praia, in the southern part in the middle of Achada Santo António RTC also has a few buildings, it also has offices in São Vicente (serving the northwestern part), Sal (serving the northeastern part), São Filipe on Fogo Island (serving the southwestern part) and Assomada in Santa Catarina (serving Northern Santiago and possibly Maio). Televisão Pública de Angola E.P. (Public Television of Angola) or TPA is the national broadcaster of the Southern African state of Angola. It also operates an international channel TPAi (formerly known as TPA Internacional and TPA3). TPA is headquartered in the capital city Luanda and broadcasts in the Portuguese language. Cubavision is a Cuban television channel owned by the Cuban government. It airs nationally 24 hours a day and has a cable version with a global reach called Cubavision International. History The origins of Cubavision go back to December 10, 1950, with the first transmissions of CMQ-TV, channel 6. This commercial channel started its regular transmissions on March 11, 1951. In 1959, with the conclusion of the Cuban Revolution, CMQ-TV, like the other means of communication in the country, ended up under the control of the government. Record Cabo Verde
RECORD TV is a channel of RecordTV in Cape Verde. It is the first Brazilian based channel to have its own version in Cape Verde. The network was launched on 31 March 2007. Its station is in the west of the city in the northern part of Cidadela in Praia and located off the road linking with Ribeira Grande and Porto Mosquito and the Circular Road. Nearly a kilometer west is the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde. The network may have now recently broadcasting sports programs from Cape Verde apart from football (soccer). Presidential elections were held in Cape Verde on 11 February 2001, with a second round on 25 February after no candidate achieved outright victory in the first round. Parliamentary elections were held in Cape Verde on 14 January 2001. The result was a victory for the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde run by José Maria Neves, which won 40 of the 72 seats in the National Assembly, defeating the ruling Movement for Democracy led by Carlos Veiga. Third was the Democratic Alliance for Change (ADM) led by José dos Santos Luís with 6.12% of the votes.
