Radio Parade
''Radio Parade'' is a 1933 British musical comedy film directed by Richard Beville and Archie de Bear and featuring an ensemble cast including Florence Desmond, Claude Hulbert, Jeanne De Casalis and the comedy double act Clapham and Dwyer. A revue film, it was made by British International Pictures who had produced a similarly formatted film ''Elstree Calling'' in 1930. Paul England (actor)
Paul England (17 June 1892 died 21st November 1968 in Newton St Cyres Devon was an English actor, singer, author. Served in Royal Horse Artillery in First World War. In Second World War worked for British Government on Lend Lease programme and was awarded a United States Congressional medal . Born at Streatham in 1893, England was educated at Whitgift School. Beyond his career as an actor and broadcaster, he was also a singer and writer. As a singer, he appeared in musicals in London's West End and on Broadway. England's first film was ''Just a Girl'' (1916), in the silent era, in which he played a miner who gets the girl, opposite Daisy Burrell. Elsie Carlisle
Elizabeth 'Elsie' Carlisle (28 January 1896 – 5 September 1977) was a popular English female singer both before and during the British dance band era of the 1920s and 1930s, nicknamed "Radio Sweetheart Number One"; according to AllMusic, she was "beyond a doubt the most popular radio performer in England in the '30s." Carlisle has also been described as "British radio's first woman crooner". She was prolific in the recording studio, and cut over 300 sides between 1926 and 1942. Early life Elsie was born in Manchester to parents James Carlisle and Mary Ellen Carlisle (née Cottingham). As a child, Elsie's mother paid for her to have singing lessons. At the age of nine, she was appearing on stage in her native Manchester and nearby Cheshire. Gus McNaughton
Gus McNaughton (29 July 1881 – 18 November 1969), also known as Augustus Le Clerq and Augustus Howard, was an English film actor. He appeared in 70 films between 1930 and 1947. He was born in London and died in Castor, Cambridgeshire. He is sometimes credited as Gus MacNaughton. He appeared on stage from 1899, as a juvenile comedian with the Fred Karno company, the influential British music hall troupe. In films, McNaughton was often cast as the "fast-talking sidekick", and he appeared in several popular George Formby comedies of the 1930s and 1940s. is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. William Reginald Gardiner (27 February 1903 – 7 July 1980) was an English actor on the stage, in films and on television.
