Radio Mil
XEOY-AM is an AM radio station in Mexico City. It is a Class A clear-channel station broadcasting on 1000 kHz. XEOY carries newscasts and contemporary music in English from the 1980s to the present day. KNWN in Seattle, Washington, WMVP in Chicago, Illinois and XEOY-AM share Class A status of 1000 AM. History XEOY was founded on February 10, 1941 by Ignacio Díaz Raygosa and Jose Iturbe Umantour; Raygosa was the grandson of former Mexican president Porfirio Díaz, while Umantour's grandfather was José Yves Limantour, the finance secretary for most of the Porfiriato. The first broadcast of XEOY-AM was the Ninth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven. In 1942 it was sold to Guillermo Salas Peyró, who gave the station its long-running name of "Radio Mil" (Radio Thousand), after its position on the dial. XHMM-FM
XHMM-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 100.1 MHz, XHMM-FM is owned by NRM Comunicaciones and is known as "Stereo Cien". History XHMM signed on in the early 1970s as "Radio Maranatha" after receiving its concession on June 8, 1965. In 1977, the station was acquired by SOMER (Sociedad Mexicana de la Radio), which on July 17 of that year relaunched it as "Stereo Cien" airing contemporary music in English as well as talk programs. Since its inception, the station's logo has featured the image of a dolphin, and a dolphin cry is used as an on-air ID. In 1995, the station was merged into NRM Comunicaciones. José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori ( or ; ; 15 September 1830 – 2 July 1915), known as Porfirio Díaz, was a Mexican general and politician who served seven terms as President of Mexico, a total of 31 years, from 28 November 1876 to 6 December 1876, 17 February 1877 to 1 December 1880 and from 1 December 1884 to 25 May 1911. The entire period from 1876 to 1911 is often referred to as Porfiriato and has been characterized as a ''de facto'' dictatorship. The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (''Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes'', SICT) of Mexico is the national federal entity that regulates commercial road traffic and broadcasting. Its headquarters are in the Torre Libertad on Reforma in Mexico City but some aspects of the department still function at the old headquarters located at the intersection of Eje Central and Eje 4 Sur (Xola). XEW-AM is a radio station in Mexico City, Mexico, broadcasting on the AM frequency of 900 kHz; it is branded as ''W Radio''. XEUR-AM is a radio station licensed to and located in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 1530 AM, XEUR is owned by Grupo Radiorama. 1530 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency. The station's transmitter is located in the borough of Iztacalco. History Núcleo Radio Mil signed XEUR on in 1974, though the concession had been awarded a decade earlier. XECO-AM is a radio station on 1380 AM in Mexico City. XECO-AM is owned by Grupo Radiorama and broadcasts a romantic music format as "Romántica". History The first concession for what is now XECO began as XEMX, awarded on September 30, 1934 to Alonso Traslosheros Ávalos. Originally the station was located on 1280 kHz and had a power of 120 watts. In 1941 it was sold to Guillermo Robles, who sold it in turn to Publicidad Comercial de México, S.A., in 1946. By 1954, the station had moved up the dial to 1380 kHz, and in the 1960s the station was owned by Núcleo Radio Mil and broadcast a format targeted at women as "Radio Femenina".
