Karl Radek
Karl Berngardovich Radek (russian: Карл Бернгардович Радек; 31 October 1885 – 19 May 1939) was a Russian revolutionary and a Marxist active in the Polish and German social democratic movements before World War I and a Communist International leader in the Soviet Union after the Russian Revolution. Early life Radek was born in Lemberg, Austria-Hungary (now Lviv in Ukraine), as Karol Sobelsohn, to a Litvak (Lithuanian Jewish) family; his father, Bernhard, worked in the post office and died whilst Karl was young. He took the name ''Radek'' from a favourite character, ''Andrzej Radek'', in ''Syzyfowe prace'' ('The Labors of Sisyphus', 1897) by Stefan Żeromski. Radek Štěpánek
Radek Štěpánek (; born 27 November 1978) is a Czech former professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 8 and best doubles ranking was world No. 4. Štěpánek's biggest achievements are reaching two Masters 1000 event finals and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2006, as well as winning the deciding match for Czech Republic's Davis Cup winning team in 2012 and again in 2013. In doubles, he won his first Grand Slam title at the 2012 Australian Open, along with Indian partner Leander Paes, defeating the Bryan Brothers in the final. Radek Bonk
Radek Bonk (born 9 January 1976) is a former Czech professional ice hockey player who most recently played for Oceláři TÅ™inec of the Czech Extraliga. Playing career Bonk was born in Czechoslovakia and began his hockey career playing for Slezan Opava in the Junior Czech league and ZlÃn in the Czech Extraliga. He moved to North America in 1993 with a goal of playing in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was signed by the International Hockey League (IHL)'s Las Vegas Thunder, with whom he spent the 1993–94 season as a 17-year-old. Bonk was an immediate sensation in the IHL and by the end of his first season of the North American brand of hockey he had registered 42 goals and 45 assists for 87 points in 76 games. Dr. Radek Zelenka is a fictional character of a scientist in the 2004 television series ''Stargate Atlantis,'' portrayed by David Nykl. He is a member of the original expedition from Earth to the Ancient city of Atlantis in the Pegasus galaxy, which he joined after turning down a job at Masaryk University in his home country Czech Republic. His expertise on Ancient technology is only surpassed by Dr. Rodney McKay, with whom he shares a friendly rivalry. Radek Baborák (born 11 March 1976 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech conductor and French horn player. Career Radek Baborák was born into a musical family. He commenced his horn studies at the age of eight under the tutelage of Karel Krenek. At the age of twelve he was a winner of the Radio Competition Concertino Prague. Radek Faksa (born 9 January 1994) is a Czech professional ice hockey centre for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). In his rookie season in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), he was the League's leading rookie scorer when he was playing for the Kitchener Rangers. Radek Dvořák (born March 9, 1977) is a Czech former professional ice hockey right winger. Dvořák was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, tenth overall, by the Florida Panthers. A veteran of 1,260 NHL games, Radek has played for the Panthers, New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Atlanta Thrashers, Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks and the Carolina Hurricanes. Radek Bejbl (born 29 August 1972) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He notably played four seasons with Atlético Madrid and played in the UEFA Euro 1996 final with the Czech Republic national team. Club career Born in Nymburk, Bejbl made his professional debuts with SK Slavia Prague, being a first-team regular since the age of 18. Radek MartÃnek (born August 31, 1976) is a Czech former professional ice hockey defenceman who last played for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career MartÃnek was an eighth-round selection, 228th overall, by the New York Islanders in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. After playing professionally for five seasons in his native Czech Extraliga with HC ÄŒeské BudÄ›jovice, he joined the Islanders in 2001 and entrenched himself as a mainstay on the blueline.
