Radarsoft
Radarsoft is a Dutch software development company that published video games in the 1980s. It released its first game (''3D Tic Tac Toe'') in 1984 for the Commodore 64. Until 1987 Radarsoft released multiple titles for the Amiga, Atari, Philips MSX and DOS. Their main focus was the Dutch market, so most games are only available in Dutch. In 1986 Radarsoft went to the American video game market, but a packaging error at a Dutch warehouse cost the studio more money than they were able to recoup. The software company was created after John Vanderaart, Cees Kramer and Edwin Neuteboom, who had already made several games together, met law student Leonardo Jacobs. Later, the four students from Leiden worked with the cartoonist Wijo Koek. They got in touch with Maurice de Hond through Jacobs, and were commissioned to make a topography program. ''Peanuts'' is a syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. The strip's original run extended from 1950 to 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. Alphen aan den Rijn (; en, "Alphen upon Rhine" or "Alphen on the Rhine") is a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The city is situated on the banks of the river Oude Rijn (Old Rhine), where the river Gouwe branches off. The municipality had a population of in , and covers an area of of which is water. The Compact Disc-Interactive (CD-I, later CD-i) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was mostly developed and marketed by Dutch company Philips. It was created as an extension of CDDA and CD-ROM and specified in the '' Green Book'', co-developed by Philips and Sony, to combine audio, text and graphics. The two companies initially expected to impact the education/training, point of sale, and home entertainment industries, but CD-i eventually became best known for its video games. CD-i media physically have the same dimensions as CD, but with up to of digital data storage, including up to 72 minutes of full motion video. Dixons is a Dutch chain of stores specialising in what it refers to as leisure time electronics. This means that Dixons does not sell products like washing machines or televisions but does provide things like digital cameras, PC's, MP3 players, gaming consoles and mobile phones. Originally launched by Dixons of the United Kingdom (now Dixons Carphone plc) as nothing more than Netherlands-based branches of the British electrical store Dixons, the Dutch arm of the company was sold to Amsterdam-based company Vendex KBB (now Maxeda) in the 1970s. They changed the store format to what it is now, before selling the company to Dexcom in 2006. There are now over 180 Dixons stores in the Netherlands. Vroom & Dreesmann (V&D) was a Dutch chain of department stores founded in 1887. It was declared bankrupt on 2015, although its branches were still in operation until 2016. On 2016, it was announced that takeover negotiations had not led to an agreement, ultimately resulting in the company's demise. In 2015, V&D operated 67 branches throughout the Netherlands, three of which were branded as La Place, V&D's former subsidiary restaurant chain which had in-house and standalone restaurants throughout the country. The department stores sold, among others, clothing and shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, books, home-entertainment products, electric goods, stationery, cards and posters, furniture and homewares. Maurice De Hond
Maurice de Hond (born 8 October 1947) is a Dutch pollster, accused of defamation and entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Steve JobsSchool, an elementary school which gives each student an iPad to encourage individualized learning. As of 2016, 35 public schools in the Netherlands adopted the school model. Two Steve JobsSchools opened in South Africa in 2016. Career Born in Amsterdam, De Hond studied human geography at the University of Amsterdam, obtaining a degree in 1971.
