Rachida Ouerdane
Rachida Ouerdane ( ar, رشيدة وردان; born 2 May 1979) is an Algerian judoka, who competed in the middleweight category. She is a three-time champion at the African Judo Championships, and a two-time medalist at the Mediterranean Games. She also won a gold medal in the same division at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers. Ouerdane made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she lost the first preliminary match of women's middleweight class (70 kg), with a waza-ari (half-point) and a kosoto gake (small outer hook), to China's Qin Dongya. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Ouerdane competed for the second time in the women's 70 kg class. Waza-ari
is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon'' or ''waza-ari'' contest, usually judo, karate or jujutsu. ''Waza-ari'' in judo A ''waza-ari'' is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in judo, the others being a '' yuko'' (advantage) or, formerly, a ''koka''. is the highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon-wazari'' contest, usually kendo, judo, karate or jujitsu. Sisilia Nasiga Rasokisoki (born 16 December 1979) is a Fijian judoka. Nasiga competed at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, where she won bronze in the women's 70 kg. Edith Bosch
Edith Bosch (born 31 May 1980) is a Dutch judoka. Her Olympic debut was at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney where she finished seventh. She won the silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the middleweight division. She was also European champion that year. Bosch became world champion in the same 70 kg category at the 2005 World Judo Championships in Cairo, Egypt. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she defeated Ronda Rousey in a quarter final match and won a bronze medal. In the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she once again won the bronze medal. The Women's 70 kg (also known as ''middleweight'') tournament in the judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held on August 13 at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium. A total of 22 women competed in this event, limited to jūdōka with a bodyweight of less than 70 kilograms. Preliminary rounds started at 12:00 Noon CST. Repechage finals, semifinals, bouts for bronze medals, and the final were held at 18:00 pm CST.
