Rachid Madrane
Rachid Madrane (born 1 November 1968) is a Belgium, Belgian politician and journalist of Moroccans in Belgium, Moroccan descent. He is currently Speaker of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region. He first served as a member of the regional parliament from 2004 to 2009, before serving as a member of the federal Chamber of Representatives (Belgium), Chamber of Representatives between 2010 and 2012, representing the electoral district of Brussels-Hal-Vilvoorde. The day after the 2019 elections, Madrane was appointed president of the Brussels regional parliament, where he was installed in July. He has a degree in journalism and communication from the Free University of Brussels. The 2019 Belgian regional elections took place on Sunday 26 May, the same day as the 2019 European Parliament election in Belgium, 2019 European Parliament election as well as the 2019 Belgian federal election, Belgian federal election. The ''Commission communautaire française'' (COCOF) or the French Community Commission is the local representative of the French-speaking authorities in the Brussels-Capital Region, one of the three regions of Belgium. On 3 December 2001, the ''Assemblée de la Commission communautaire française'' or ''ACCF'' (Assembly of the French Community Commission) informally changed its name to ''Parlement francophone bruxellois'' (French-speaking Brussels Parliament). French Community Of Belgium
In Belgium, the French Community (french: Communauté française; ) refers to one of the three constituent constitutional linguistic communities. Since 2011, the French Community has used the name Wallonia-Brussels Federation (french: Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles), which is controversial because its name in the Belgian constitution has not changed and because it is seen as a political statement. The name "French Community" refers to Francophone Belgians, and ''not'' to French people residing in Belgium. As such, the French Community of Belgium is sometimes rendered in English as "the French-speaking Community of Belgium" for clarity, in analogy to the German-speaking Community of Belgium. Regional elections were held in Belgium on 25 May 2014 to choose representatives for the Flemish Parliament, Walloon Parliament, Brussels Parliament and the Parliament of the German-speaking Community. Etterbeek ( French: ; Dutch: ) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Charles Picqué (born 1 November 1948) is a Belgian politician. He is a former Minister-President of the Brussels Capital-Region. After obtaining a master's degree in economics at the Institut d'administration et de gestion at the Louvain School of Management (University of Louvain), he made his first steps in politics in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles, where he has been mayor since 1985.
