Rachel Prusak (born 1975) is an American Democratic politician and nurse practitioner who served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2018 to 2023. She represented the 37th district, which includes West Linn, Durham, Rivergrove, Tualatin, and Stafford. Professional career Prusak graduated from Northeastern University with a BA in nursing and then earned a master's degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University. Before her tenure in office, she was a family nurse practitioner who served elderly homebound patients for over 20 years, specializing in palliative and hospice care. Political career Prusak defeated incumbent representative Julie Parrish in the 2018 Oregon legislative election. Julie Parrish (born June 9, 1974) is an American politician and was a Republican member of the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 37 for four terms of office beginning on January 10, 2011, and ending on January 13, 2019. Julie Parrish is the seventh generation of her family to live in Oregon, and the third legislator from her family to serve in the Oregon Legislature. Her family has been active in Oregon Republican Politics since 1874. Julie Parrish is the daughter of a Lebanese immigrant who came to Oregon in the late 1960s. Elections Rep. The 2018 elections for the Oregon Legislative Assembly determined the composition of both houses for the 80th Oregon Legislative Assembly. The Republican and Democratic parties held primary elections on May 15, 2018 with general elections on November 6, 2018. The 2020 Oregon House of Representatives election were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, with the primary election being held on May 19, 2020.
