Francisco Rabanal
Francisco Rabanal (August 12, 1906 – July 22, 1982) was an Argentine accountant and politician. He was born in Buenos Aires. He belonged to the Radical Civic Union and was Mayor of Buenos Aires between 1963 and 1966. He lived much of his life in the neighbourhood of Nueva Pompeya. His son, Ruben Rabanal, also went into politics, being a senator and Congressman on several occasions. Career Rabanal became a Certified Public Accountant in 1932 at the University of Buenos Aires. He joined radicalism in his early youth. From a young age he held various internal positions within the party, confronting ideologically, during the infamous decade, with the then party leader, Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear. He was elected Alderman in 1938. He was Congressman in the periods between 1948 and 1955 and between 1960 and 1962. In both cases his term was interrupted by military coups. Jesús Giancarlos Rabanal Dávila (born December 25, 1984) is a Peruvian footballer who currently plays as a left back for Unión Huaral. Club career Rabanal made his league debut with Universitario de Deportes in the 2004 Torneo Descentralizado season. He managed to score his first goal in the Torneo Descentralizado in the 2007 season. In January 2012, Rabanal left Universitario and joined their rivals Alianza Lima for the start of the 2012 season. International career Rabanal made his debut with the Peruvian national team on 4 September 2010 in a friendly match away to Canada, which finished in a 2–0 win for Peru. Rafael Oscar Rabanal (15 June 1940 – 2 November 2020) was an Argentine writer and journalist, managing editor and columnist in various Argentine and foreign media. Career He studied two courses related to humanities, without finishing them, before becoming a journalist. He has worked as a correspondent, editor and columnist, mainly in ''La Nación'', an Argentine newspaper among other print media. In 1979 Rodolfo received a scholarship to participate in the International Writers Workshop at the University of Iowa in the United States. In the 1980s he was Assistant Secretary of Culture under President Raúl Alfonsín. In 1988 he received a Guggenheim fellowship. He also received several prizes; the Municipal Novel Award in 1995, the prize of "club de los 13" in 1997, and the "Pen Club Argentino" award for ''Cita en Marruecos'' as the best novel of the year in 1998.
