''RTL Matin'' (''RTL Morning'') is the main morning news programme on the French Generalist channel, generalist commercial radio network RTL (French radio), RTL. It goes out on weekdays 7.00-9.00 and weekends 7.00-10.15 and is France's most listened-to news programme. Médiamétrie audience measurement (in French) From what had originally begun as a morning music sequence incorporating regular news bulletins, ''RTL Matin'' eventually developed into an "all-news" programme as the proportion of time given over to news, comment and background reports gradually grew. The programme's main presenter since 2014 has been Yves Calvi, who also presents the culture and entertainment review ''Laissez-Vous Tenter'', which follows between 9.00 and 9.30 each weekday. RTL (French Radio)
RTL is a French commercial radio network owned by the RTL Group. Founded in 1933 as Radio Luxembourg, it broadcast from outside France until 1981 because only public stations had been allowed until then. It is a general-interest, news, talk and music station, broadcasting nationally (" category E" as classified by the CSA) in France, French-speaking Belgium, and Luxembourg. RTL also broadcasts on long wave frequency 234 KHz from Beidweiler which can be picked up in large parts of the continent. Yves Calvi
Yves Calvi (born Yves Krettly on 30 August 1959) is a French journalist and television presenter. Early career and education Yves Calvi was born in Boulogne-Billancourt in the department of Hauts-de-Seine. He graduated in modern literature and was a former student at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris. He decided to change his family name and take the pseudonym of his father, composer and conductor Gérard Calvi, when he joined Radio France Internationale in 1986 and before joining France Info. He was close to one of the founders of France Info and joined him in 1994 when he rectified the station RMC (France), RMC and then Europe 1 two years later.
