The Route nationale 1 is a trunk road ( nationale) in France between Paris and Calais. It is approximately long. Reclassification The majority of the original road has been superseded by the A16 autoroute. As a result, much of the road has now been reclassified the RD 1001, RD 901 and RD 940. Route Paris - Saint-Denis - Beauvais - Amiens - Abbeville - Boulogne-sur-Mer - Calais - Dunkerque - ''Belgium'' Paris to Amiens (0 km to 130 km) The road begins at the Porte de la Chapelle in Paris and runs below the A1 autoroute as the Boulevard de President Wilson north through the northern Paris suburbs to Saint-Denis. Route nationale 1 (RN1) is a highway in French Guiana, an overseas region and department of France in South America. The highway connects Cayenne with Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and measures . The highway is the busiest road of French Guiana. Overview In 1863, road construction started on Route Coloniale 1 to connect Cayenne with Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. The road was built by prisoners of the penal colony. Many prisoners died during the construction. In 1970s, the section connecting Kourou with Sinnamary was rerouted for the construction of the Guiana Space Centre. In 1999, the road between Balata and Maringouins was widened to a 2x2 lanes dual carriageway. In 2014, a grade-separated intersection with Route nationale 2 to Saint-Georges was opened. The Route Nationale No. 1 is an important highway in Niger. It connects the east part of the country to the west. RN1 runs approximately from Niamey in the west to N'Guigmi in the east, via Dosso, Maradi, Zinder, and Diffa. The first large paved section, between Gouré and N'Guigmi, was surfaced in 1971–72. This section, in the distant and sparsely populated east, is now the most degraded section and in part completely eroded.
