RMIT School Of Mathematical And Geospatial Sciences
The RMIT School of Mathematical and Geospatial Science was an Australian tertiary education school located within the College of Science Engineering and Health of RMIT University. Since September 2016 the former school has become part of the new RMIT School of Science. Both Mathematical Sciences and Geospatial Science have transitioned into two of the seven distinct disciplines that make up the RMIT School of Science. The last Head of School was Professor John Hearne. Centre for Risk and Community Safety The School includes the Centre for and Community Safety which is a collaboration between the Geospatial Science school, Emergency Management Australia and the Australian National University. Emergency Management Australia (EMA) was an Australian Government body responsible for emergency management coordination. EMA was transferred from the Attorney-General's Department in a machinery of government change to become a division of the newly established Department of Home Affairs in 2018. Access Grid is a collection of resources and technologies that enables large format audio and video based collaboration between groups of people in different locations. The Access Grid is an ensemble of resources, including multimedia large-format displays, presentation and interactive environments, and interfaces with grid computing middleware and visualization environments.
