RK Krim
Rokometni klub Krim ( en, Krim Handball Club), commonly referred to as RK Krim or simply Krim, currently named Krim Mercator due to sponsorship reasons, is a women's handball club from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Krim was founded in 1984 and has won the Slovenian Championship a record 27 times. The club has also won the EHF Champions League twice, in 2001 and 2003. Arena Stožice
The Stožice Arena ( sl, Arena Stožice) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was designed by Slovenian Sadar Vuga d.o.o. architects and is the biggest indoor arena in the country. It lies in the Bežigrad district, north of the city centre. The arena is part of the Stožice Sports Park sports complex. The arena is the home ground of basketball club KK Cedevita Olimpija. History The arena was named after the area in which it is located, and the change of the name is possible in the future due to sponsorship rights. Together with a football stadium it is part of the Stožice Sports Park. The arena building area measures 14,164 square meters. It was constructed in just 14 months and opened on 10 August 2010 with a basketball match between Slovenia and Spain, which was won by Spain 79–72 after overtime. The Women's EHF Cup Winners' Cup was the official competition for women's handball clubs of Europe that won their national cup, and took place every year from 1976 to 2016 (until 1993 organized by IHF instead of EHF). European Handball Federation
The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. Daria Evgenyevna Dmitrieva (russian: Дарья Евгеньевна Дмитриева; born 9 August 1995) is a Russian female handballer, who plays for RK Krim and Russian national team. Biography Daria's father is a former ice hockey player. She trained under Irina Kos at Lada Togliatti, but when the coach decided to leave, Dmitrieva and some of her teammates joined the other Russian handball center in Volgograd. Daria was a 14-year-old when she made that decision in 2009. Dmitrieva and Anna Vyakhireva were considered the rising stars at the European Junior Championship. Allison Marie Pineau (born 2 May 1989) is a French handballer for RK Krim and the France women's national handball team, French national team.
