RBC Ministries
Our Daily Bread Ministries (formerly RBC Ministries) is a Christian organization founded by Dr. Martin De Haan in 1938. It is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with over 600 employees. It produces several devotional publications, including '' Our Daily Bread''. The ministry produces radio and television programs along with an online university program called Christian University GlobalNet. History As a Christian organization, it was originally called the "Detroit Bible Class" when it was founded in 1938, it later became known as "Radio Bible Class". In 1994 the name was changed to RBC Ministries, and in 2015, the name was changed to Our Daily Bread Ministries. Its founder, Dr. M. R. De Haan, led the organization until 1965. Richard De Haan took over in 1965 and led the organization until 1985. Richard's son, Mart De Haan, was the president until October 5, 2011, when the presidency was handed over to his brother, Rick. Martin De Haan
Martin Ralph DeHaan (March 23, 1891 – December 13, 1965) was an American Bible teacher, the founder of Radio Bible Class, and the co-editor of the monthly devotional guide ''Our Daily Bread (devotional), Our Daily Bread''. Early life M. R. DeHaan was born in Zeeland, Michigan, to Reitze and Johanna Rozema DeHaan, emigrants from the Netherlands. After graduating from Zeeland High School in 1908, he attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, for a year, before attending and graduating from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 1914. DeHaan established a country practice in Byron Center, Michigan, about fourteen miles east of his home town. He enjoyed the work of a physician, especially when fast thinking allowed him to save or improve lives. He even diagnosed his own mother's diabetes by looking at her eyes and was able to prescribe insulin, only recently invented. Douglas Stuart (biblical Scholar)
Douglas K. Stuart (born February 8, 1943) is Professor of Old Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, an interdenominational Evangelical Seminary. Life Stuart received his B.A. '' magna cum laude'' from Harvard College in 1964, spent two years at Yale Divinity School, and in 1971 received his PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Literature from Harvard University, on meter in Hebrew Poetry. He also served as the senior pastor of the Linebrook Church of Ipswich, Massachusetts, and was the former senior pastor of Boxford's First Congregational Church. He is the father of eight grown children, four of which he and his wife adopted. He currently resides in Bradford, Massachusetts and watches over two tree farms in Farmington, New Hampshire. Robert Kolb
Robert Kolb is professor emeritus of Systematic Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, and a world-renowned authority on Martin Luther and the history of the Reformation. Biography and education Robert Kolb was born on June 17, 1941, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He married Pauline J. Ansorge on August 14, 1965. He attended Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, from which he earned the B.A. in 1963. Harold Hoehner
Harold Walter Hoehner (January 12, 1935 – February 12, 2009) was an American biblical scholar and was professor of New Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Family and education Hoehner was born in Sangerfield, New York to Walter and Mary (née Siegel) Hoehner, farmers of Swiss and German descent, respectively. He earned his B.A. (1958) from Barrington College, his Th.M. (1962) and Th.D. (1965) from Dallas Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. (1968) from University of Cambridge; he also did postdoctoral study at University of Tübingen and Cambridge. John Gerstner
John Henry Gerstner (November 22, 1914 – March 24, 1996) was an American Reformed and Presbyterian theologian and professor of Church History at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and Knox Theological Seminary. He was an expert on the life and theology of Jonathan Edwards. Career Gerstner earned both a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology degree from Westminster Theological Seminary. Frame (born April 8, 1939) is a retired American Christian philosopher and Calvinist theologian especially noted for his work in epistemology and presuppositional apologetics, systematic theology, and ethics.
