They are designated with the letter "R" followed by a three-digit number. They serve as feeders connecting smaller towns to the national and provincial routes. Designation as a regional road does not necessarily imply any particular size of road; they range from gravel roads (like the R340 between Plettenberg Bay and Uniondale) to multi-lane freeways (like the R300 near Cape Town). Although most regional roads are maintained by provincial road authorities, this is not universally the case; in provinces which lack capacity, some may be under the control of the National Roads Agency (SANRAL), and in urban areas they may be ordinary streets under the control of the municipal roads department. R75 (South Africa)
The R75 is a provincial route in Eastern Cape, South Africa that connects Graaff-Reinet with Gqeberha via Despatch, Kariega and Jansenville. Route Nelson Mandela Bay The R75 begins at the intersection with the R102 (Govan Mbeki Road) in Sydenham, just north of the Gqeberha city centre as a dual-carriage roadway and heads in a north-westerly direction as ''Commercial Road''. It intersects with the N2 highway in the suburb of Korsten and after crossing the N2, it becomes ''Uitenhage Road''. It passes through the large township of Ibhayi before leaving the built up area of Gqeberha (previously known as Port Elizabeth) and intersecting with the M19 metropolitan route at an interchange south-east of Despatch, adjacent to the Azalea Park suburb. Kirkwood is a town in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is situated on the banks of the Sundays River in the eponymously named Sundays River Valley, which forms part of the Sundays River Valley Municipality in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality of the Eastern Cape. Addo is a town in Sarah Baartman District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Region east of the Sundays River, some 72 km northeast of Port Elizabeth. R335 (South Africa)
The R335 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Nelson Mandela Bay in the south to Somerset East to the north via Addo. Route Its southern origin is at the N2 highway off-ramp between Wells Estate and St Georges Strand near Port Elizabeth. It heads in a northwesterly direction intersecting with the R102 (to Swartkops and Port Elizabeth), M17 (to Motherwell and Ibhayi) and R334 (to Coega) and passing through Wells Estate, Markman and Motherwell. It then heads north to reach Addo. Just after passing the town, the R336 is given off to the west. From Addo onwards, the town follows the western border of the Addo Elephant National Park. The next major intersection, is with the R342 which heads east into the park. After leaving the park behind, the route reaches a staggered junction with the R400.
