R30 Road (South Africa)
The R30 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects Bloemfontein with Rustenburg via Brandfort, Welkom, Bothaville, Klerksdorp and Ventersdorp. The southern part of the route is tolled, as the R30 forms the first section of the ZR Mahabane Toll Route, with the Brandfort Toll Plaza found 10 kilometres north of its Southern junction with the N1 National Route. The tolled portion ends at the junction with the R730. (The R730 takes over the Toll Road status and the R30 is toll-free for its remainder) Route Free State The R30 Road begins 16 kilometres north of Bloemfontein Central, as an off-ramp of the N1 Highway (northbound only). It begins as the ZR Mahabane Toll Highway and heads north-north-east for 35 kilometres, crossing the Modder River, to the town of Winnie Mandela (formerly Brandfort; renamed in 2021). The R730 is a Regional Route in Free State, South Africa. The entire 40-kilometre route is part of the ZR Mahabane Toll Route maintained by the South African National Roads Agency, which goes from Bloemfontein to Kroonstad (an alternative route to the N1 National Route). Although there are no tollgates on this stretch at the moment, it is labelled as a toll road to the near public and to motorists using the road (indicated on road signage). It begins south of Welkom at an off-ramp junction with the R30 Road (which takes over as the ZR Mahabane Highway to Bloemfontein) and ends east of Odendaalsrus at a t-junction with the R34 Road (which takes over as the ZR Mahabane Highway to Kroonstad). The R34 is a long provincial route in South Africa that connects Vryburg with Richards Bay via Kroonstad and Newcastle. It passes through three provinces, North West, the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal. Route North West The R34 begins a few kilometres east of the town of Vryburg, North West at a t-junction with the N14 National Route, which is the main road into the town. The R34 starts by going south-east for 60 kilometres to the town of Schweizer-Reneke. In the town centre, it meets the R506 Road and the R504 Route at a 4-way junction with Schweizer Street. West of this intersection, it is the R710 Road towards Bultfontein. The R708 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Jan Kempdorp in the Northern Cape with Clocolan in the Free State via Christiana, Hertzogville, Bultfontein, Theunissen, Winburg and Marquard. Vet River
The Vet River ( af, Vetrivier) is a westward-flowing tributary of the Vaal River in central South Africa. Its sources are between Marquard and Clocolan and the Vet River flows roughly northwestwards to meet the Vaal at the Bloemhof Dam near Hoopstad. Erfenis Dam was built on this river in order to provide water for the town of Theunissen. R703 (South Africa)
The R703 is a Regional Route in South Africa. Route Its western terminus is the R64 just east of Dealesville. From there, it heads east to the town of Soutpan. Just outside Soutpan, it crosses the R700 at a staggered intersection. Continuing east, it reaches Brandfort, where it crosses the R30. From Brandfort, the route initially heads east, reaching a t-junction. The R703 continues along the intersecting road, heading south-east, while the other road is unsigned and heads to Winburg. The south-eastern R703 crosses the N1 to reach Verkeerdevlei. Leaving the town, it maintains its direction coming to Excelsior.
