The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is Europe's largest association of hackers with 7,700 registered members. Founded in 1981, the association is incorporated as an ''eingetragener Verein'' in Germany, with local chapters (called ''Erfa-Kreise'') in various cities in Germany and the surrounding countries, particularly where there are German-speaking communities. Since 1985, some chapters in Switzerland have organized an independent sister association called the (CCC-CH) instead. The CCC describes itself as "a galactic community of life forms, independent of age, sex, race or societal orientation, which strives across borders for freedom of information…". In general, the CCC advocates more transparency in government, freedom of information, and the human right to communication. Chaos Esports Club
Chaos Esports Club is an American esports organization. Originally founded as Digital Chaos in 2015, the organization is best known for their ''Dota 2'' team's Cinderella story, Cinderella run at The International 2016 tournament, where they finished as the runner-up. In April 2017, the organization announced the departure of founding member and owner Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten. The following year, they expanded into other games, such as ''PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'', ''Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege'' and ''Counter-Strike: Global Offensive''. Around the same time, the organization rebranded itself from Digital Chaos to Chaos Esports Club. SIGINT (conference)
The SIGINT conference was a three-day conference held yearly on the social and technical aspects of digital society between 2009 and 2013. It was organized by the Chaos Computer Club and held in Cologne, Germany. The conference featured both lectures and workshops on various different topics. It specifically wanted to focus on the social and political aspect of technology and hacker culture. The conference was officially discontinued in January 2014. Kommune 1
Kommune 1 or K1 was a politically motivated commune in Germany. It was created on 12 January 1967, in West Berlin and finally dissolved in November 1969. Kommune 1 developed from the extraparliamentary opposition of the German student movement of the 1960s. It was intended as a counter-model against the small middle-class family, as a reaction against a society that the commune thought was very conservative. The commune was first located (from 19 February 1967, until the beginning of March 1967) in the empty apartment of the author Hans Magnus Enzensberger, in Fregestraße 19, as well as in the studio apartment of the author Uwe Johnson, who was staying in the United States, at Niedstraße 14 in the Berlin district of Friedenau. Wau Holland
Herwart Holland-Moritz, known as Wau Holland, (20 December 1951 – 29 July 2001) was a German computer security activist and journalist who in 1981 cofounded the Chaos Computer Club (CCC), one of the world's oldest hacking clubs. Career From 1979 onwards, Holland supported the film historian Hans-Michael Bock with the development of the filmographic database CineGraph - a lexicon for German-language films, which appeared as a loose-leaf collection from 1984. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN ) is an American multistakeholder group and nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces and numerical spaces of the Internet, ensuring the network's stable and secure operation. Andy Müller-Maguhn
Andy Müller-Maguhn (born 3 October 1971) is a member of the German hacker association Chaos Computer Club (CCC). Having been a member since 1986, he was appointed as a spokesman for the club in 1990, and later served on its board until 2012. He runs a company that develops cryptophones. In an election in Autumn 2000, he was voted in as an at-large director of ICANN, which made him jointly responsible with 18 other directors for the worldwide development of guidelines and the decision of structural questions for the Internet structure. In 1995, Müller-Maguhn founded the "Datenreisebüro" ('Data Travel Agency'), based in a Berlin office since 2002. Tim Pritlove (born 25 November 1967 in Gehrden, Germany) is a British/German podcaster, media artist and discordianist. He lives and works in Berlin. Pritlove studied computer science but never graduated. From 1998 to 2005 he was the main organizer of the Chaos Communication Congress and the Chaos Communication Camps. Also, until 2006 he was in charge as managing director of the "Chaos Computer Club Veranstaltungs GmbH". He also filled a central role in the Chaos Computer Club, where he is settled as a member. c-base e.V. is a non-profit association located in Berlin, Germany. Its purpose is to increase knowledge and skills pertaining to computer software, hardware and data networks. The association is engaged in numerous related activities. For example, the society has had stands at large festivals, such as Children's Day, where they introduce young people to topics like robotics and computer-aided design.
