R. S. Mugali
Ram Shri Mugali (Ranganatha Srinivasa Mugali) (15 July 1906 – 20 February 1993) was a Kannada language writer. He was awarded the central Sahitya Akademi in 1956 for his work "Kannada Sahitya Charitre". He was the president of the 44th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held in Siddganga, in the Tumkur district of Karnataka state, India. Early life Mugali was born in a Deshastha Madhva Brahmin family in Hole Alur in the Ron Taluk of Gadag district, British India. In 1933, he was appointed professor of Kannada at Willingdon College, Sangli. Among his students at Willingdon were writers Subbanna Ekkundi and Gangadhar V. Subbanna Ekkundi
Subbanna R. Ekkundi (1923–1995) was a recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, National Aaward for Teacher and Soviet Land Award. Ekkundi was born in Ranebennur of Haveri district in the year 1923. His father was Ranganath and mother was Rajakka. He was a student of literature at Willingdon college, Sangli. At Willingdon, V. K. Gokak and R. S. Mugali were Ekkundi's professors. Ekkundi and Gangadhar V. Chittal from Hanehalli were classmates at Willingdon. After graduating with B.A. (Hons.) Gangadhar V
Gangadhar (1936–2003) was an Indian actor known for his work in Kannada cinema. A character actor who transitioned from stage to films in the mid-1960s, he had a brief period of success when his performances in social-dramas such as ''Gejje Pooje'' (1969), '' Sharapanjara'' (1971) and '' Seetha'' (1970) were noted. In addition to the former two, he starred in '' Katha Sangama'' (1975) and '' Ranganayaki'' (1981), all of which were directed by Puttanna Kanagal. Other films he starred in include ''Nanna Thamma'' (1970), ''Aliya Geleya'' (1971) and '' Bhale Adrushtavo Adrushta'' (1972). Gangadhar returned to stage in the 1980s after film opportunities failed to come his way; poor health condition led him to retire from acting in 1995, when he was aged 59.
