Robert James "R. J." Allen (born April 17, 1990) is an American former professional Association football, soccer player. Predominantly a right-sided defender, Allen is the older brother of soccer player Brandon Allen (soccer), Brandon Allen. Career High school Allen attended St. Joseph High School (Metuchen, New Jersey), St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey, between 2004 and 2008, where he played soccer all four years. College and amateur Allen played four years of college soccer at Monmouth University between 2008 and 2011. While at college, Allen appeared for USL PDL side Central Jersey Spartans in 2010 and 2011. Professional On January 17, 2012, Allen was selected 5th overall in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by Chivas USA. The New York Red Bulls are an American professional soccer club based in the New York metropolitan area. The Red Bulls compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft was the nineteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. As customary, the SuperDraft was held in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches convention. The 2018 UCS was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania between January 17–21, 2018. Rounds one and two of the SuperDraft were held on January 19, 2018. Rounds three and four of the 2018 SuperDraft were held via a conference call on January 21, 2018. Jason Clarence Kreis (born December 29, 1972) is an American soccer coach and former player who currently serves as an assistant coach for MLS club Inter Miami CF and as head coach of the United States under-23 team. He coached Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer and was previously an assistant coach under Jürgen Klinsmann for the United States men's national soccer team. Prior to that he was the head coach of New York City FC and Real Salt Lake. A left-footed forward, he was a two-time winner of the Hermann Trophy as the top men's college soccer player and was the leading scorer in NCAA Division I soccer in 2013. The Hudson River Derby, also known as the New York derby, is the name given to the soccer local derby between the two teams based in the New York metropolitan area, New York Red Bulls and New York City FC. First played in 2015, the rivalry between the two started almost as soon as the announcement was made of the formation of NYCFC in 2013. Early on in the rivalry's history, the Red Bulls dominated the fixture, winning the first four games in the all-time series including one particular fixture, commonly referred to as 'The Red Wedding', in which the Red Bulls won 7–0. Since this game, however, New York City has gained traction in the derby, winning four of the last seven games in the season series (four out of nine in all competitions) and taking points in three straight league games in 2017. Seattle Sounders Football Club is an American professional men's soccer club based in Seattle. The Sounders compete as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS).
