R.O.C.K.
R.O.C.K. is a 1986 hard rock/ heavy metal album by Finnish musician Kirka. A major departure from Kirka's typical easy listening albums, the album featured English language lyrics, written by Kassu Halonen, and was largely hard rock oriented. Although Kirka had done covers by rock artists in the past, R.O.C.K. was his first full-fledged rock-album. ''The Spell'' is a 1987 hard rock album by Kirka. Following in the style of the ''R.O.C.K.'' album, the songs were all in English with a distinct hard rock sound, however, losing some of the aggressiveness of the first album. The album also did not feature covers by other rock acts. Kirka
Kirill "Kirka" Babitzin (Russian '' Кирилл Бабицын'', 22 September 1950 – 31 January 2007) was a Finnish vocalist and musician. One of the most commercially successful artists from Finland, his career lasted from the late 1960s until his death in 2007. Previously associated with Ilkka Lipsanen's band, The Islanders, Kirka went on to record a wide array of rock and pop music. Some of his most famous songs include "Hetki Lyö" (Beat the Clock), "Leijat" (Kites) and "Varrella virran" (Down by the River). His 1988 album ''Surun Pyyhit Silmistäni'' (The Sadness in Your Eyes) went on to be one of the best sold records in Finnish history. He also represented Finland in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to the 1970s. It is related to middle of the road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non- rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. It was differentiated from the mostly instrumental beautiful music format by its variety of styles, including a percentage of vocals, arrangements and tempos to fit various parts of the broadcast day. "School's Out" is a song first recorded as the title track of Alice Cooper's fifth album. It was released as the album's only single on April 26, 1972. "School's Out" was Alice Cooper's biggest international hit and it has been regarded as their signature song and reached number seven on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number three in the Canadian '' RPM'' 100 Singles chart, number two on the Irish Singles Chart and number one on the UK Singles Chart. Alice Cooper, also known as the Alice Cooper Group or the Alice Cooper Band, is an American rock band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1968.
