R.J. Oben
Roman "R.J." Oben Jr. (born June 17, 2001) is an American football defensive end for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He previously played for the Duke Blue Devils. Early life and high school Raised in Montclair, New Jersey, Oben attended high school at St. Peter's Preparatory School. Coming out of high school Oben was rated as a three-star recruit where he decided to commit to play college football for the Duke Blue Devils. College career Duke In Oben's first season in 2019, he played in four games, making just one tackle before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. In the 2020 season, Oben made four tackles with half a tackle being for a loss. In the 2021 season, Oben totaled 25 tackles, with seven going for a loss, five sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception, and a pass breakup. Roman Oben (born October 9, 1972) is a former professional American football player. He played college football at the University of Louisville before being drafted by the New York Giants in 1996. Oben spent 12 years as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) playing for the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Diego Chargers. He was a starting offensive lineman on the Buccaneers Super Bowl XXXVII Championship team. Oben is currently the NFL Vice President of Football Development.
