Yam Island, called ''Yama'' or ''Iama'' in the Kulkalgau Ya language or Turtle-backed Island in English, is an island of the Bourke Isles group of the Torres Strait Islands, located in the Tancred Passage of the Torres Strait in Queensland, Australia. The island is situated approximately northeast of Thursday Island and measures about . In the , Yam Island had a population of 319 people. Its indigenous language is Kulkalgau Ya, a dialect of the Western-Central Torres Strait language, Kalaw Lagaw Ya. Geography The town on the island, also called Yam Island is on the north-west coast. Yam Island Airport is in the north of the locality. History Mabuiag- Badu legends have Austronesian people from far-east Papua settled on Parema in the Fly Delta and married local trans-Fly women (of the group of peoples now called Gizra, Wipi, Bine, Meriam). The Anglican Church of Mozambique and Angola (IAMA)is the 42nd ecclesiastical province of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Established in 2021, is the newest province to have been erected. Previously the dioceses which constitute this new province were parts of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. The new province adopted its constitution and canons at a special synod, and was formally inaugurated on 24 September 2021, in an online teleconference including Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, and Josiah Idowu-Fearon, Secretary-General of the Anglican Consultative Council. International Academy Of Medical Acupuncture
The International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, founded in 1973 as Academy of Clinical Acupuncture, is a medical institute of higher learning in the United States. It was established in Kansas City, Mo. by Dr. John A. Amaro. Already by 1974, the Academy of Clinical Acupuncture had given over 700 physicians a formal education in both Chinese and Japanese styles of Acupuncture. In February, 1978 it changed its name to International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, when it started giving certification by international programs, initially to Toronto, Canada. Since 1979, over 1500 symposiums and Graduate School certification programs for over 20,000 participants from many different disciplines of physicians and health professionals. There is a "Fellowship Certification" that can be obtained through the Academy.
