Quévy (; pcd, Kévi) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On 1 January 2006, Quévy had a total population of 7,734. The total area is 65.16 km² which gives a population density of 119 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Asquillies, Aulnois, Blaregnies, Bougnies, Genly, Givry, Gœgnies-Chaussée, Havay, Quévy-le-Grand, and Quévy-le-Petit. Aulnois, Belgium
Aulnois ( wa, Ônwa) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Quévy, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Aulnois was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganisation of 1977. The village is on the border with France and on a 96 km long railway line, with a railway station that used to serve as a border station. Mons
Mons (; German and nl, Bergen, ; Walloon and pcd, Mont) is a city and municipality of Wallonia, and the capital of the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Mons was made into a fortified city by Count Baldwin IV of Hainaut in the 12th century. The population grew quickly, trade flourished, and several commercial buildings were erected near the ''Grand’Place''. In 1814, King William I of the Netherlands increased the fortifications, following the fall of the First French Empire. The Industrial Revolution and coal mining made Mons a centre of heavy industry. In 1830, Belgium gained its independence and the decision was made to dismantle the fortifications, allowing the creation of large boulevards and other urban projects. On 2324 August 1914, Mons was the location of the Battle of Mons.
