Quest For A Heart
''Quest for a Heart'' ( fi, Röllin sydän) is a 2007 British/Finnish/Russian/German animated film directed by Pekka Lehtosaari. It is based on the Rölli character created by Allu Tuppurainen, and while it is the third Rölli film (previous films are '' Rolli: Amazing Tales'' from 1991 and ''Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods'' from 2001), it is also the first Rölli animation. It is also one of the first feature-length animated films produced in Finland, before that ''Santa Claus and the Magic Drum'' was made in 1996 and ''The Emperor's Secret'' in 2006. With its over 5 million euro budget, ''Quest for a Heart'' is one of the most expensive Finnish films. The film won the Best Animation Award at the German Schlingel Film Festival in October 2008 and at the Chicago Children's Film Festival in November 2008. Nordisk Film A/S (lit. "Nordic Film") is a Danish entertainment company established in 1906 in Copenhagen by filmmaker Ole Olsen. It is the fourth-oldest film studio in the world behind the Gaumont Film Company, Pathé, and Titanus, and the oldest studio to be continuously active. SCHLINGEL International Film Festival
Schlingel (Usually written: SCHLINGEL) is an international film festival for children and young audiences. The festival began in 1996, and has taken place annually in Chemnitz ever since in the week before the Saxon Fall Break. The festival gives an overview of the newest international productions in the area of children and youth films. The festival is organized by the Saxon Children and Youth Films Association in Chemnitz. In addition, since 2006, the Saxon Institution for Private Broadcasting and New Media has also helped to organize this event. ''Santa Claus and the Magic Drum'' (original Finnish title: ''Joulupukki ja noitarumpu, '') is a 51 minute long Finnish-Hungarian animation released in 1996. The story is based on a 1995 children's book of the same name by Mauri Kunnas. The movie has been recorded in Finnish, English (British) and Swedish. It was made for TV broadcasting and was first shown on Christmas Eve 1996, and has been broadcast on YLE TV2 nearly every Christmas Eve since. ''Santa Claus and the Magic Drum'' has been sold to over 40 countries. In addition to Mauri Kunnas and his wife Tarja Kunnas, the illustrator Sami Toivonen and the cartoonist Kari Korhonen participated in the designing of the animation. ''Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods'' (also titled ''Rolli'', fi, Rölli ja metsänhenki) is a 2001 Finnish fantasy film directed by Olli Saarela. It is the second film based on the television series ''Rölli'', the first being '' Rölli – hirmuisia kertomuksia'' (1991). Plot Hairy and rowdy trolls called rolleys sail to a land inhabited by more peace-loving elves. When the rolleys arrive to the elf village, they scare the elves away and settle down in the village. One of the elves, Milli, a brave elf girl, returns to the village to make a peace with the rolleys. Rölli
Rölli (sometimes called Rollo in English language, English is a character from Finland, Finnish television portrayed by Allu Tuppurainen, Allan "Allu" Tuppurainen. The character originally appeared in segments on the children's TV show ''Pikku Kakkonen'' on YLE's Channel 2 in 1986. Original episodes were produced until 2001 and older episodes have been seen in constant reruns on the program. In these segments, Rölli would tell stories of his amazing adventures while often criticising and questioning public norm or the activities of people (especially humans). Rölli has also appeared in five feature-length films.
