The Queen of the South is one of the names/Titles the Reigning Queen of Sheba holds. Queen of the South (, ''basilissa notou'') is an alternative title for the Queen of Sheba, used in two parallel passages in the New Testament (Matthew 12:42 and Luke 11:31), where Jesus said: :The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it (''or in Luke'': with the men of this generation and condemn them), for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. Kurmanjan Datka ( ky, Курманжан Датка) or Datka Kurmanjan Mamatbay kyzy (1811 – 1 February 1907), also known as "The Tsaritsa of Alai" or "The Queen of the South", was a politician in Kyrgyzstan who acquiesced under duress to the annexation of that region to Russia. History Kurmanjan was born into a rich family of the Mungush clan in the Osh region. At the age of 18 she was supposed to be married to a man whom she did not see until her wedding day. When she met him, she did not like him and broke with tradition — first fleeing into neighboring China and later deciding to stay with her father, Mambatbai. Arturo Pérez-Reverte Gutiérrez (born 25 November 1951 in Cartagena) is a Spanish novelist and journalist. He worked as a war correspondent for RTVE for 21 years (1973–1994). His first novel, ''El húsar'', set in the Napoleonic Wars, was released in 1986. He is well known outside Spain for his " Alatriste" series of novels, which have been translated into multiple languages. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Royal Spanish Academy. Writing Pérez-Reverte's novels are usually centered on one strongly defined character, and his plots move along swiftly, often featuring a narrator who is part of the story but apart from it.
