Queen Inseon
Queen Inseon (Hangul: 인선왕후 장씨, Hanja: 仁宣王后 張氏; 9 February 1619 – 19 March 1674), of the Deoksu Jang clan, was a posthumous name bestowed to the wife and queen consort of Yi Ho, King Hyojong. She was queen consort of Joseon from 1649 until her husband's death in 1659, after which she was honoured as Queen Dowager Hyosuk (효숙왕대비). She was the first Joseon queen consort with the experience of living in a foreign country. Queen Ingyeong
Queen Ingyeong (인경왕후 김씨; 25 October 1661 − 16 December 1680), of the Gwangsan Kim clan, was a posthumous name bestowed to the wife and first queen consort of Yi Sun, King Sukjong, the 19th Joseon monarch. She was queen consort of Joseon from 1674 until her death in 1680. Biography The future queen was born on 25 October 1661 during the reign of King Hyeonjong. Her name was Kim Ok-hye (김옥혜, 金玉惠). Her father was Kim Man-gi and her mother was member of the Cheongju Han clan. Kim Jang-saeng is her great-great grandfather and Kim Jib is her great-granduncle through her father. Princess Suknyeong (Hangul: 숙녕옹주, Hanja: 淑寧翁主; 1649 — 1666 or 1668) was a Korean Joseon Dynasty Princess, and the only daughter of King Hyojong of Joseon and Royal Noble Consort An. Biography Early life The Princess was born as the only child and daughter in 1649, during her grandfather’s King Injo’s 27th year of reign, to then Grand Prince Bongrim and Lady Yi of the Gyeongju Yi clan. Royal Consort Anbin Yi
Royal Noble Consort Ahn of the Gyeongju Yi clan (Hangul: 안빈 이씨, Hanja: 安嬪 李氏; September 1622 – October 1693) was a Korean Royal Consort and the spouse of King Hyojong of Joseon. Biography Lady Yi was born in September 1622, lunar calendar, (14th year reign of Gwanghaegun of Joseon) as the daughter of Yi Eung-heon from the Gyeongju Yi clan. She became Hyojong's concubine when he was still ''Grand Prince Bongrim'' (봉림대군). When the Qing Invasion happened in 1636, Lady Yi, along with Princess Consort Pungan (the future Queen Inseon), followed Grand Prince Bongrim to Shenyang and assisted him as they went to China as hostages of the Qing Dynasty. Injo Of Joseon
Injo of Joseon (7 December 1595 – 17 June 1649), born Yi Jong, was the sixteenth ruler of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. He was the grandson of King Seonjo and son of Prince Jeongwon. He was the king during the Later Jin invasion of Joseon, in which Later Jin withdrew the armies after their demands were met. However, in the subsequent Qing invasion, King Injo surrendered in 1636, agreeing to the subjugating terms outlined by the Qing. Crown Prince Sohyeon
Crown Prince Sohyeon (소현세자, 昭顯世子, 5 February 1612 – 21 May 1645) was the first son of King Injo of Joseon Dynasty. Sohyeon was a hostage in the Manchu court at Shenyang, by the terms of the peace treaty concluded after War in 1636. Ganghwa Island (Hangul ; Hanja ), also known by its native name Ganghwado, is a South Korean island in the estuary of the Han River. It is in the Yellow Sea, off Korea's west coast. The island is separated from Gimpo (on the South Korean mainland) by a narrow channel spanned by two bridges, and from Kaesong (Gaeseong) in North Korea by the main channel of the Han River. Yi Kang
Yi Kang, Prince Imperial Ui (Korean: 의친왕 이강, 30 March 1877－15 August 1955), also known as Prince Uihwa, was the second son of Emperor Gojong of Korea and his concubine, Lady Jang, who was a court lady-in-waiting. It was not until 1892 when he was recognized as a legitimate prince with the name of Yi Kang, and was titled Prince Uihwa with the style of ''Royal Highness'', following a decree issued by his father. He married Lady Kim Sudeok, a daughter of an official in court, Kim Sajun. Prince Yi Kang was not the Crown Prince, even though he was older than his half-brother Prince Imperial Yeong, due to various reasons including the status of his mother.
