Quart
The quart (symbol: qt) is an English unit of volume equal to a quarter gallon. Three kinds of quarts are currently used: the liquid quart and dry quart of the US customary system and the of the British imperial system. All are roughly equal to one liter. It is divided into two pints or (in the US) four cups. Historically, the exact size of the quart has varied with the different values of gallons over time and in reference to different commodities. Name The term comes from the Latin '' quartus'' (meaning one-quarter) via the French ''quart''. However, although the French word ''quart'' has the same root, it frequently means something entirely different. In Canadian French in particular, the quart is called '' pinte'', whilst the pint is called ''chopine''. History Since gallons of various sizes have historically been in use, the corresponding quarts have also existed with various sizes. Gibraltarian Real
The real was the official currency of Gibraltar until 1825 and continued to circulate alongside other Spanish and British currencies until 1898. History After the Anglo-Dutch occupied Gibraltar in 1704, the Spanish real continued to circulate in the town. However, no distinction was made between the silver (''de plata'') and billon (''de vellón'') reales issued by the Spanish (1 ''real de plata'' = 2 ''reales de vellón'' before 1737, 2½ after), providing a substantial profit for the army officers making payments to troops. In 1741, the following rates of exchange were established: 2 ''blancas'' = ''1 maravedi'', 4 ''maravedíes'' = 1 ''quarto'' or ''quart'', 16 quartos = 1 real de vellón, 8 reales de vellón = 1 ''peso sencillo'' ("current" dollar), 10 reales de vellón = 1 ''peso fuerte'' ("hard" dollar, also known as the ''Spanish dollar''). These roughly doubled the value of the real de vellón relative to its value in Spain. Much of the currency in circulation was in t ...

Quart (typographic Unit)
Metric typographic units have been devised and proposed several times to overcome the various traditional point systems. After the French revolution of 1789 one popular proponent of a switch to metric was Didot, who had been able to standardise the continental European typographic measurement a few decades earlier. The conversion did not happen, though. The Didot point was metrically redefined as  m (≈ 0.376 mm) in 1879 by Berthold. The advent and success of desktop publishing (DTP) software and word processors for office use, coming mostly from the non-metric United States, basically revoked this metrication process in typography. DTP commonly uses the PostScript point, which is defined as of an inch (352.(7) μm). Metric Didot Point With the introduction of phototypesetting in the 1970s metric units were increasingly used in typography. The Didot point was redefined once again to 375 μm exactly ( mm). Quart Also in the 1970s, the new unit quart (''q ...

Albert Arnal ( Serra (Camp de Túria) 31 January 1913 - Quart de Poblet (Horta Oest) 1 May 1966), known as Quart (or Xiquet de Quart) was the Valencian pilota ruling ''dauer'' player during the 1930s. His mastery caused him to be rewarded by having a picture on the ''Honor Gallery'' of the Pelayo trinquet. On 1991 the Valencian Pilota Federation awarded him with the Golden medal. He began playing at the Manises trinquet and got to be the main player at the Pelayo ''trinquet'' during the 1930s and 1940s. He was announced with a not too-gifted ''punter'' against the most powerful trios (such as Llíria I, Mora de Montcada and Micalet de Paterna). Due to disagreements with the Pelayo managers, he turned to play at the Grau ''Llevant trinquet''. On 1948, almost at the end of his career, his returning to Pelayo against Juliet d'Alginet resulted in a large audience. ''Quart'' was a strong and tall player, powerful enough that he could throw the vaqueta ball easily to the ''galleries'' ...
