Quaid-e-Azam Stadium
The Quaid-e-Azam Stadium ( ur, قائدِ اعظم سٹیڈیم; also known as Mirpur Cricket Stadium) is a cricket stadium in sector F/2 Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is the home of Azad Jammu & Kashmir cricket team. The stadium has a seating capacity of 16,000, making it the largest stadium in Azad Kashmir. On 11 July 2008, the Government of Azad Kashmir, Azad Jammu & Kashmir government handed over the Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Stadium to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for holding national and international cricket matches. The PCB announced it will be installing an electrical scoreboard, floodlights and all other required facilities for holding international and national One-Day cricket, one-day matches. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Cricket Grounds In Pakistan
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Kashmir Premier League (India)
The Kashmir Premier League (KPL) is a Twenty20 cricket league in Jammu and Kashmir The league was started in 2011 by the Indian Army and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The Army sponsors the teams, and provides cricket kits and refreshments. The purpose of the Kashmir Premier League is to build bridges between Kashmiris and Indian Army men. The league is the brainchild of Group Officer Commanding (GOC) of XV Corps, Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain. The T20 cricket tournament is part of the Indian Army's Operation Sadhbhavana. The Kashmir Premier League ( ur, ; abbreviated KPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league organized by Pakistan Cricket Board in the Pakistani administrated side of the Kashmir. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly.
