Qirjako Mihali
Qirjako Mihali (13 May 1929 - 7 April 2009) was an Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour. He was a candidate-member of the Politburo of the Party of Labour of Albania, Minister of Finance, and member of the Albanian Parliament. Biography Mihali began his career as a functionary of the Party of Labour in the business sector, most recently from 1967 to 1975 he was Director of Nitrogen Producing Plant ("Azotik") in Fier. In January 1975, he became for candidate-member of the Politburo of the Party. He held this position until his retirement in December 1990. Together with Hekuran Isai, Pali Miska, and Llambi Gegprifti, Mihali represented a new generation of leaders within the Party, which gain power with the termination of relations with the People's Republic of China. On 26 November 1977 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers in the government of Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu. Korçë (; sq-definite, Korça) is the eighth most populous city of the Republic of Albania and the seat of Korçë County and Korçë Municipality. Niko Gjyzari (born 10 November 1934) is a former Albanian economist and politician who served as Minister of Finances in the Çarçani II Government and later as General Director of the Bank of Albania. He was selected as a member candidate of the Politburo of the Labour Party of Albania at the 10th party congress. Biography Niko Gjyzari was born on November 10, 1934, in Vlorë, Albanian Kingdom. 1997 Unrest In Albania
The Albanian Civil War in 1997 was sparked by pyramid scheme failures in Albania soon after its transition to a market economy. The government was toppled and more than 2,000 people were killed. Various other sources also describe the violence that ensued as a rebellion, or a rebellion that gradually escalated into a civil war. By January 1997, Albanian citizens, who had lost a total of $1.2 billion, took their protest to the streets. Beginning in February, thousands of citizens launched daily protests demanding reimbursement by the government, which they believed was profiting from the schemes. Pirro Kondi (born 1924, date of death unknown, 2015 or before) was an Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). Prokop Murra (24 November 1921 – 9 September 2005) was an Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). Early life Murra was born on 24 November 1921 in Tirana, and studied economics. He joined the Albanian Communist Party in 1943 and fought during World War II as a partisan of the National Liberation Movement. Lenka Çuko (born 8 July 1938) is an Albanian former politician of the Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). Biography Çuko was born in Lushnjë to a family of partial Aromanian origins. In 1970, she was elected first-deputy of the People's Assembly (Albanian: ''Kuvendi Popullor''). She was in member of the parliament from the seventh to the eleventh legislative term which ended in 1991. Vangjel Çërrava (born 1941) is an Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). He was member of the Albanian Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Albania, and for a short time member of the Politburo of the Party. Hajredin Çeliku (born May 4th 1927 - died June 2005) was a former Albanian politician of the Albanian Party of Labour. Foto Çami (born 4 October 1925, date of death unknown) was an Albanian academic and politician of Albanian Party of Labour (PPSh). Biography Çami was born on 4 October 1925 in the village of Labovë of Gjirokastër District in Albania. He joined the partisans of the National Liberation Movement and served as a political commissar.
