Keum-Shik Hong
Keum-Shik Hong (; born 1957) is a South Korean mechanical engineer, academic, author, and researcher. He is a professor emeritus in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Pusan National University. He is also a Distinguished Professor in the Institute For Future, Qingdao University, China. Education and early career Hong was born in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, in 1957. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanics & Design from Seoul National University in 1979, and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, New York, in 1987. Shinan District
Shinan District () is an urban district of Qingdao, Shandong. It has an area of , and had approximately 588,800 inhabitants as of 2019. Shinan is located in coastal hilled terrain, and has a temperate monsoon climate. Common features include moderate temperatures, moist air, abundant rainfall, and four distinct seasons. It is notable for its early 20th-century German architecture, unusual in Chinese cities. In the mid-19th century the European powers forcibly opened China to foreign trade.
